I believe Nationwide has nice new computer systems, not the antiquated CA-7 like RBS and the rest of the industry....

... not quite yet ... but I understand that by the end of the year there'll be snazzy new computer systems/products.

A double dip recession or, if you're a Nationwide customer, a double dip into your bank account recession.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

They are adopting SAP, so God help us all. I've used SAP in a previous company I used to work for, and it was a complete bag of excrement.

having been double debited, on two items, i think its poor we werent called or messaged, as theres plenty of comms when they want their money.
at least o2 compensated us for their mess, why do the banks/building societies think no penalties eventually is enough.
the other thing is will the small companies who got a double credit think i am cheating them when they lose the double credit. will soon see how that pans out.
its about time our money is processed with a second tier of checking by different humans a bit like hospital meds.

There were notices on their website, Facebook page, Twitter page and online banking - how much more do you want?

Because you haven't lost out in any way. The whole thing was resolved within a day.

Did the recipient get a double credit? I was under the impression that the transactions were just posted twice to the accounts - there was still only one underlying transaction. Do the recipients should not have been affected.

I had a payment taken out of my account twice from Nationwide and received the refund a couple of days later. I just checked my account and have noticed that I have been charged for being overdrawn because of the double debit. It's not a large amount but I'm annoyed all the same and have emailed Nationwide about this. Anyone else noticed that they have been charged?
