Have to agree, the ke word is on your own property,as I mentioned in my last post, or to extend, on land you have express permission to carry that out.
That can be your back garden or a farmers field, hate crows still.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

I can appreciate your POV but still maintain your original post was misleading on the "open season" front because it strayed from the objective into the emotional.
Like them or loathe them theres absolutely nothing legal about taking pot shots at crows unless its for crop protection and even then you have to be an authorised person.
There is no "closed season" for shooting crows, so imo "open season" all day every day, they are classed as vermin full stop.
Pest birds, such woodpigeons and corvids, can be controlled all year round for defined purposes (such as protection of crops or wildlife) subject to the terms and conditions of general licences. No one hasto apply for a general licence.
I have a rifle and dont consider myself to be "authorised" - competant yes - responsible yes, when dealing with firearms you have to be both.
It matters not what NE think, pest control with an air rifle is perfectly legal and above board.
Now I must go and give myself authorisation to go and shoot so vermin.
I accept your comments. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

I think this post should be ended here?
All rational views have been heard and answered in the same fashion without offence to anyone, that's a success in itself when guns/firearms/culling of animals or vermin comes into the equation.
The OP will sort it, end of??, pleaseI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Agree with Cyclone - we've got way off topic. Now back to same. OP - it will cost you nothing to call your local wildlife people out - please do so. The bird may end up being given a home, it may end up being pts depending on whats wrong with it but it will bother you no longer.

Luckily, the green film seems to have worked so i am leaving it up for a while longer. I haven't seen or heard any crows for the last few days. ( maybe someone else has dealt with him :-) )
I think it would be quite hard to shoot him as he does't visit the house in the daytime. He just comes at some random time at the crack of dawn, tries to kill himself then !!!!!!s off as soon as he hears or sees anything. I think it would be easier to kill them if they are feeding on your land.0 -

Agghhhhh!
HE IS BACK
Over the last two or three weeks the crazy crow has been sporadically attacking the patio doors. I don't know if it is the same crow or not but he isn't welcome regardless. He really goes for it but hasn't done any damage yet.
I have just ordered one of those motion activated 'scarecrows' that shoot busts of water. I can't use it when it is frosty but hopefully it will work quickly.
He is going down! (I hope)
Wish me luck.0 -

How about leaving some bicarb of soda out on some food for him?
Watch him fly away only to explode later on.
Or sit out in a hide with an air rifle.0 -
I'm currently having the same issue with this little swine...
He's been attacking both mine and my neighbours bedroom windows since before Christmas. I've tried keeping the curtains closed but thats not working.
The issue is the window is third floor, so getting to the outside of it to attach film etc is impossible.
I don't want to kill it.
Ideas?0
