Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 26th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Another beautiful day here, :j, OH gone to work and dd and I leaving in a while so no os at all till we get home.
Dinner tonight will be egg chips and beans, nice and easy. I will do a wash tonight and we have Mr T delivering.
Hope those who are away on holiday have a great time, hope the weather is kind.
Better go and make lunches and have a shower.
Have good days all xx

Morning Redruby and all who follow
Not a lot of OS today as we're off on our holiday to Dorset :j:j
Sorry not much else worth saying :rotfl:
Behave while I am gone (no Internet......<flatlines>)
Hugs and spoons all round. Stay safe xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Good Morning x
Sorry MIA as regards OS - need to get a grip on it again:eek:
Hope holibobs goes well for those on their travels - especially Bitsy and family as you very much deserve to chill.
Not sure of my plans today but washing machine is whirring and cleaner is working miracles later. House is still in chaos as Hubs is still decorating.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Cloudy and overcast here this morning, forecast says sun will come out later and today will be hotter than yesterday! (It was 28 yesterday) DH up and off to work at stupid early. Have just put washing out on the line and stripped our bed and that's now doing it's stuff in the WM.
Will be popping out first thing to get a haircut, then will come home to get chores done.
Took DS1 to meet his friend yesterday afternoon when I got home from work, he will ring today when he's ready to be collected. Dinner last night was fish and chips for DH and DS2, I had fish and jacket potato. Need to organise something for tonight - will do that later. I think I will place an online order for grocery shopping to be delivered Sat am, that will buy me some more time over the next few days. Today I need to do all the ironing, then get DS1's bags packed. Managed to bag a bargain, picked up a 75litre trolley suitcase, brand new, for £6 - you can't even buy a rucksack for that so am well pleased.
Remember the sun cream - it's really hot/muggy here again already!
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Morning all,
I hope that i find all my lady's in good health as iv not posted on this site in a while.
All is good here with the twins. Twin one has just got over chicken pox. Twin two is just in the middle of chicken pox and very grumpy at the moment.
But apart from that both are find.
I do have to say what big girls they are now. They had there 4th birthday a month ago! In September they are both off to big school! Both are looking forward to it. They have made a few close friends at pre school that they wont to keep in contact with. Don't know how long that will last but we will try.
My health is OK at the moment. I'm waiting for a scan. I should have t at sometime in the next 6 weeks as iv got too see my consultant at the end of September .
On the bad side. Iv lost my job again. I Got made redundant last week, Off to the job center today for my first visit. Not sure if i will get any dole money as my wife works. But its worth a try.
Have a great day all:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Good morning all,
Bitsy, i hope you and your family have a great time on holiday.
Halight, sorry to hear you have lost your job.
Jackie, i hope Mikey got on ok yesterday and that he managed to have a little bit of a paddle.
Warm here already and going to get hotter. I hope it doesn't get as hot as it was yesterday. Didn't cope very well with the heat yesterday.
Washing is out and another load in. I did the housework last night as 1, it was cooler and 2, hubby was on nights and he will be in bed all day today.
Need to get a cake made as the tin is running low.
I don't plan on doing too much today. I may find a shady spot in the garden with my crochet.
Tea tonight is fish, hg new potatoes and hg salad.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning :hello:
It’s much fresher this morning. Last night was hot and muggy, and I’m sure someone sucked all the oxygen out of the air
The inside of my wicker washing basket was turning black – I blame master tru, he pulls his washing out of the machine into the basket, then leaves it there all day. So yesterday I made a lining for it, I knew that old shower curtain would come in handy one day
I phoned the vet yesterday for more antibiotics and painkiller, they usually insist on you bringing your pet in but they got them ready and mr tru picked them up on his way home from work. Daisy is much stronger, I struggled to sort her out this morning. From now on I'm going to have to wrap her in a towel and get mr tru to hold her while I poke cotton buds and syringes into her mouth.
I'm going to spend the day shredding paper. It takes all day because I like to keep a few binliners full and the shredder works for about two minutes then takes 45 minutes to cool downNo matter how tidy I keep the garden, there's always an area that ends up in a mess. So I'll be sorting buckets, pots etc and sweeping up while I wait for the shredder. I feel like a proper grown-up gardener now - I am the proud owner of a wheelbarrow. Trouble is it's all new and green and shiny and I don't want to use it in case it gets dirty :rotfl:
