Pushchair for toddler?

Hi all,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I need to choose a pushchair for my just turned 3yr old. He is normally a great walker, but when I take him away & long walks in the heat or we are at the airport with lots of hanging around it is handy to have a pushchair. I hired one the last holiday and it was great, 1wk 20euros. However I am thinking it will be more cost effective to buy one for the next year then ebay it. I am struggling though as to which buggy's suit a child of this age - any recommendations? Would really appreciate it, thanks.

  • Maclarens are great and fold up small. Ours has been round the world several times and is still going strong despite the less than delicate handling by baggage handlers!

Any specific model? Or are they all good? We have had a quinny buzz until now but it is becoming too hard to move round with a 3yr old.

20 Euros for a week? Was it made out of solid gold? Ours is a cheap one from Tesco direct, it cost about £30 I think and has been fine.

I know but I thought it was a one off. Worked out to be around £16. I didn't think we would go away again at the time, or that he would need a buggy at his age, but as it was our 1st holiday abroad with a little one I learnt a lot. Waiting around the airport is boring to a toddler, queues are massive through security, so even though I hired a buggy abroad I needed it still this side. Luckily his cousin was with us so they shared it a little which was brilliant. Until you try these things you don't know. Appreciate the advice here thanks...

For manoeuvrability around town go for the Quinny Zapp. For off-roading go for the mountain buggy.

Infact I've got a pre-loved Quinny Zapp going free if you live anywhere near me (Berkshire/Hampshire/Surrey).
  • We are using a Maclaren Vogue which this is an overseas model...but most Maclarens are robust.

We are using it for our 5 year old as we travel a fair bit and it is easier to have her sleeping in this through the airport than us carrying her. It is a reasonable size,. I think it cost about 120 quid equiv....I'm sure you could get a decent one off ebay. We have had ours since birth, and it is still going well.
