Anyone else told this when leaving 3?

Called 3 the other week so I could request my PAC code and change networks.

Once put through I went through the inevitable drawn out conversation (monalogue) asking me why I wanted to leave and what other deals I'd seen.

They couldn't come close on price but they did try various dubious tactics to try and scare me off leaving, one of which was the surprising claim that 'most other deals you see don't include VAT in the line rental'. I know this is untrue - in fact I don't think I've ever seen an ex-VAT price on any non-business line rental deal. 3 must know this too so I can only conclude that this is a deliberate attempt to mislead people. If this is a standard part of the script (which it sounds like it is) then I think it's something that they need pulling up on.

Anyone else been told the same?

I'm sure someone else said something similar recently. Guess its just another tool in the box for 3 customer services although they dont normally resort to lying.

It's a valid caveat, they're not being particularly deceitful, but I've seen non-business tariffs from Vodafone being misread by punters as the total price paid, so it's not up there with the good reasons to stay, but it'll do!
