Hi guys
Just after some advice please...
My sis has been using my laptop today and been on ebay. She tried to log onto her own account, but a message comes up saying suspicious activityand account has been blocked..
A form comes up asking for personal information including card details - which weve enetered but nothing happens & keeps saying incorrect details...
Any idea? now that Ive typed it out, just wondering if it is some kind of virus or scam???
Any help please ASAP! Thanks in advance

Have you tried logging in to Ebay from a different machine?"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Call 0800 358 3229 - this is the number I get when I typed in 'my account has been suspended'0 -
I would consider ordering a new card. This sounds incredibly like a Virue/scam. Ebay would never ask for bank details to get into an account.
Did it ask for your sort code and pin number also?
I once had a screen pop up on ebay that asked for all of this stuff, it was a very tricky virus which proved difficult to get rid of.
At the very least run all security software you have, contact Ebay and keep a close eye on your accounts.0 -
Cancel the card. I hope they didnt ask for your pin otherwise your screwed.0

:(I received an email with exactly the same message but it's a scam. I know this as it was sent to an email address I have not and never will use for eBay Paypal or anything related to either of them.
You should probably:
1)Phone Ebay Cusotmer Services to inform them and make sure no fraudulent activity has occured on your account.
2)Cancel your bank card and inform the bank what has happened
3) Run a full virus scan on your computer. (you can do this for free with things such as AVG, Avira and Malwarebytes)
4) After you have run the virus scan change your ebay password, your email apssword and any other passwords that you share with either of these accounts.
It may also be worth checking your paypal account for strange activity and I would recommend changing your paypal account password too.
Good luck and I hope you've caught it all in time. XxEveryone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
I'm getting the same message (not an email). it started with facebook, then ebay and now amazon !!!!
I've tried running a virus check and its not finding anything.
I've managed to get rid of the message a few times by just making uo details and card numbers etc... but it's getting to be a real opain and I have no idea what to do.
Can anyone help?0 -
