And just ignore this troll who seems to delight in telling people they won't get jobs.
If you screwed up - and you may not have - then it's all experience. There's always a next time. Nobody - not even the person who gets the job - does a perfect interview. The worst that can happen is that this time it's not you. And it still might be you!0 -

Use your brain. Think. Why have an interview to assess whether OP should be promoted to begin with? Why not simply promote OP based on observations of past performance? Ah, bet you didn't think of that didn't you? Lesson of the day is to think things thoroughly you troll.0 -

Stop staying in your dream world and come back to reality. In the real world when there's an interview before any promotion is made, the performance during that interview will have significant impact on the employer's final decision to promote OP or someone else. Quite immature and petty of you to make personal insults. It proves you're incapable of debating like a grown adult. You know I'm right. You're just angry you can't accept the truth.0 -
Thanks for all the comments everyone.
This is a position that has just been created in our new structure, as our department is new, so I believe they have to advertise it internally, so its fair!0 -

You are really are deluded , and pompous to boot,
I dont get angry at people like you, pity yes, but never anger, that just gets you an ulcer. Hope yours doesnt get too painful.
Edit, I have no inclination to debate with you. I just wanted to tell you what I thought of you as a human being.

YOu should check out Adzuna. They have great data on negotiating a pay rise. simply search for the job title you're going after and then click 'see more stats' and you'll see what you should/could be paid.0

Don't worry OP. Last October I had what I thought was the WORST interview of my life! I was kicking myself afterwards and thinking of all the things I could have said, should have said etc. I got the job though
And conversely, the week before that I'd had an interview which I thought had gone like a dream, answered perfectly and so on. I didn't get that job, and when I emailed to ask for some feedback, they essentially said "Yes, you got 100% in the tasks we set you and your interview answers were perfect. But sorry, we hired someone else." So just goes to show, you never know!0
