Best Alternative Sat Nav to CoPilot GPS on iPhone 3gs & Parrot CK3320i Car Kit?
Hi, I have just upgraded to CoPilot GPS after using CoPilot Live for the UK & Ireland, North America & Australia/New Zealand for serveral years.
However, after using it for the first time I have noticed that it has seemed to have stopped playing the directions/turns whilst I am connected to my Parrot Ck3200i handsfree car kit?
The music mutes, I hear a click and then it is as though the sound file isn't playing?
I have a 32gb iphone 3gs with the latest IOS and the latest software on the Parrot Car Kit.
The only way I can get the CoPilot GPS to play the directions/turns is by disconnecting the iPhone from the car kit!
I have reinstalled the CoPilot Live UK & Ireland app and it works perfectly so I am stumped why this doesn't work with the CoPilot GPS?
I have raised a support ticket with ALK the developers and the gist of their replies is "we Know there's an issue, it may have worked with the Live version but is doesn't anymore so get on with it!"
Here is the gist of our email conversation:
ALK: "We advised that it is possible that there is compatibility issues between the new CoPilot GPS application and your Parrot Ck 3200i car kit, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that CoPilot will be compatible with any third party Bluetooth devices or car kits as we are not able to test these."
Me: Why did the "Live" versions work perfectly but the "GPS" version doesn't?
ALK: "We appreciate that you would like to use the new version of CoPilot like the old version through your Parrot Ck 3200i car kit however CoPilot GPS is a different version from the CoPilot Live 8 application and some changes were made for the new version which are making it not compatible with the Parrot Ck 3200i car kit. Unfortunately there are no options in CoPilot to alter the Bluetooth settings as again we do not test CoPilots compatibility with third party Bluetooth devices, as we only test CoPilot to ensure it works fully on the device itself (iPhone 3GS) using the devices speaker.
We can only advise that in order to use CoPilot GPS you will not be able to connect it to your Parrot Ck 3200i car kit and use it normally through the iPhone itself."
Me: What changes have you made and why are they affecting the Bluetooth connection?
ALK: "We understand your frustration, however as advised unfortunately there is nothing more that we can do to assist you as we only guarantee that CoPilot will work on your device using the devices own hardware (speaker), we do not advise that this will also work through third party Bluetooth devices."
Sorry for the long post but ALK have really ticked me off and now that my ranting is over & done I can finally ask my question.
