My Mrs has just been offered by Virgin Mobile the following.

Your tariff gives you:
Unlimited calls to Virgin Mobile numbers
Unlimited minutes to landlines
2500 minutes
Unlimited texts
Unlimited texts to Virgin Mobile numbers
Unlimited Mobile Web
and a Sony XPERIA U on a 12 month contract for £33.00 pm.
Has anyone any views on the phone and is it a good offer ?

Well Virgin offer the tariff for £23 per month, so the handset will be costing you £120, the handset is ok.

The phone is highly rated over on hotukdeals as some of the deals on it are great. For £7.50 per month free phone, 250mins, 5000 texts and 500mb data. Only downside I can see it has no memory card slot.Out of the 8gig internal you are left with 4gig for your own use. The screen seems responsive and the phone seems quick plus it's due an upgrade to the Android 4 later this year. I had a play with one earlier today as I wasn't sure about how the end cap at the bottom of the phone looks. It seems ok to me as I am considering this phone as well.

The phone's good as long as you can manage with 4GB memory for everything.

The offer you got is good if you need 2500 minutes and all the other unlimited stuff. If not, it can be had for £26 per month over 12 months (£315 in total) with 400 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB data.

I've just got one for my mum and have had a play with it - its a nice phone, very clear screen and good camera. I picked it up with 250 mins, 5000 texts and 500Mb of data on Talk Mobile last week but its expired now.

As the others have said - check what you need in terms on inclusive mins etc and hten use one of the comparison sites such as comparethemarket or omio to see what the best deals available are. If you find something better then you can use this to bargain with Virgin.

    Don't forget moneysupermarket and uswitch.
  • Do you REALLY need all those minutes/texts/data? If not imo you are paying WAY over the odds.
