Im 22 just applied, got one with 3.5k limit

Just phoned them up, turns out I had been rejected. So just applied to the Tesco one and got accepted with 4k limit :money:

I have experienced this as well, applied for the card, and passed the initial credit check. Received a letter sent by first class post from them confirming that i'd been accepted (in principle), and my card and welcome pack would be here within 10 days.

Two days later I get a further letter, this time telling me that my application had been declined.

Today, I get a third letter, advising me that my application was 'on hold'

So, thats approved, declined and then on hold, in that order all in the same week in respect of the same card from the same website application.

Like others in this thread, I also have a good credit rating, no debt and have never even had a loan, nor as much as ever missed a bill payment. No previous history of card or credit refusal. I'm not even wanting to transfer a balance from another card.

Methinks RBS doesn't have a clue what the hell its doing, my card application currently seems to be in three different states, all at the same time.
