Hardly worthy of a Grabbit in my opinion - more worthy of a Leave-it.[/QUOTE]

Pure negativity towards the post... You can't get much more negative than that...

Oh dear. I'll be specific. I had intended a play on words. Let me rephrase:

Brahma is hardly worth grabbing off the shelves, [In my opinion] I would rather leave it on the shelves.

Grabbit / grabbing / Forum title. Do you see? Never mind.

Hmmm. It would be an interesting state of affairs if all the best things in life were the cheapest.

The general rule is "You get what you pay for."

If I see some and it's on offer, I might try it. But only for the sheer hell of it, mind you.

Well, that and because it got a mention on here.

The general rule is that the more expensive a product is, the more chance there is that you're being ripped off; or that you buy more expensive products because it makes you feel superior (i.e. snobbery)
Thanks to all who post constructively.

  • That sounds a bit exaggerated, it may be a general rule for you but not for me- 'if you pay peanuts then you get monkeys' is also a general rule too

A bit off topic but whilst your'e in Sainsburys try the Carlsberg "Jacobsen Bramley Wit", a white beer with a hint of apple. If you like Hoegaarden you will like this. It is about £3.49, but was on offer with about a £1 off.

That refers to employers paying low wages, not to the prices of products that you buy ;)

I've tried a lot of Tesco Value products, for example, and some of them (teabags or dishwasher tablets, for example) are not as good as more expensive products, but a lot of them are just as good as more expensive products. You can't tell from the price of a product whether it will be good or not, and these cliched phrases often just dont bear up under close scrutiny

I tried this beer when it was on special offer last year and wasn't overly impressed, but that doesn't mean I'll dismiss any low-priced beer out of hand with some cliched old expression, without even putting in the effort to try it first, and I appreciate people taking the time to post offers like this that they find :)
Thanks to all who post constructively.
