Well that was a nice surprise.
Got home after a particularly gruelling week to find a cheque for a months council tax.
    That will do nicely.

Well that was not a nice surprise...some would say not a surprise!
Form of intended prosecution from the police!!!
The good news is that as I was doing 37 in a 30 I am eligible for a driver awareness course.

Hurrah - much cheaper in the long run Butti... but like me you must learn from your slip. I ended up with a car with cruise control, so I can set it at 33 ;)

Oh that is good news! Much better than points, and if the housing work dries up, you'll be able to apply for a job as a driving awareness course tutor, with all the experience you're getting...

    Don't you encourage her Beanie!

I hope it's alright and I hope they turn out alright and to be honest I am feeling a bit sad because it will no longer be my home.
    I guess that's normal.

Have had a quiet day watching episodes of bake off, call the midwife (bought the DVD using my £5 voucher), doing some washing and a bit (but not enough) tidying / sorting.

Home tomorrow for a serious amount of chucking out.

I can get why you'd feel sad Butti but hopefully this will solve your financial problems and it'd be nice for your house to be a home again (didn't sound like the lodger was really making it her home). and sometimes a lazy day in front of the tv is ENTIRELY necessary!

Right so I'm up and in one of my favourite places...the library...the library with the cake...the big and very nice cake....with the big slices.

    :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake:

That sort of thing! (and I'm hungry and hopefully it is still £1.75)

    List for today

    1. Gumtree listing of jacket and panniers - hasn't happened, one of those frustrating days where the computer system blocks you from doing what you want to do

    2. Evidence of me still having my house handed into Halifax. The door was half closed, and the girl on the door was saying we're closed. Do you think I was listening? No way. Here's my evidence I haven't yet let the house (my council tax cheque) and you ARE taking it even if I have to have severe bruising on my right foot and an automatic acceptance of passing the first stage of being a Jehovah's Witness :D

    3. Paying my council tax cheque into the bank. Haven't looked at the balance yet. Well have kind of looked at it through the back of the sheet of paper - I might have had my  but I'm still a bit of a coward when it comes to checking my bank balance. Did check savings so there is still £400 there if we need a bit of a sub. Did a print out so I can check it at home once I've got a cuppa in my hand.

    4. CLEAR THE GARAGE

This has taken on renewed significance this week. I need to have boxes that are going into storage, a charity pile and a FEW things that are being left. That is it. Even painting the kitchen cupboards around the frame doesn't need doing as the tenants have asked if they can paint the kitchen units.

    5. Wax the balcony maybe.

    6. A bit of gardening and cutting the grass probably.

    Part 2 to follow
