Well I called in at a hairdressers after work today. Walked in off the street and got my fringe cut for a fiver.:D

After the first three cuts I did wonder if the fact she was mopping the floor when I walked past meant she was the cleaner rather than the hairdresser. How fast does hair grow back?:eek::eek:

My hair would be doing this................if it was long enough!

Good value cut. Last you long time. Only 20 dollar...

Just taken the opportunity to pay a bit more off the M&S card so the totals aren't looking too shabby!

    CDL £10,000 = £5,314
    M&S £ 1,188 £ 437 - 220 = £ 217
    MBNA £ 3,450 £3,410 - 34 = £3,376

    So in total = £8,927

....and have ran into the bloke who wanted to take me out on a date....who still seems to be struggling with the English language and the concept of a woman who says No.

Trying to find a room in York for next Saturday that doesn't have three figures and start with a 2!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Proving fairly difficult. It may indeed be a day trip.

That should fettle him, but the car repairs will probably be costly.

It's best not to leave it so late - when I went to York it wasn't that expensive.

    Congratulations on the pay offs.

    Thanks Beanie.

Just paid another £50 off the MBNA card today so feeling pretty good. Need to stop now for the month though as I think my teeth bill is coming in next week and I think that is going to be about £400 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Will get £50 back from the work's medical scheme....but still!

In better news Flybe have cancelled my flight to Milan next year for the beer meetup.:mad::mad::mad::(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:mad:
Have persuaded my current boss to give me another day's holiday (Will start working for new boss in 11 days!) and hence ignored their suggestion that I take a later flight and have instead moved my flight forward 24 hours so I will get a five day weekend rather than their proposed 3.5 days!!!

So today have been looking over how far I've come in the last year. Had a look back to the few months before DDay - Sale of house on 22 November 2013. 14 October was a particular high point, the day before pay day when money was SO TIGHT I couldn't afford to go to work. Classic :rotfl::rotfl: (though not at the time!)

I did aim to have the M&S card paid off by now. Havent' quite managed that but things aren't bad. *Then is at its highest

    Then Now APR
    Dad 7000 0 0%
    Friend 280 0 0%
    CDL 10000 5101 7%
    HSBC 4400 0 19%
    Halifax 1430 0 14%
    Vir/MBNA 3000 3376 0/36/0%
    M&S 1188 217 6.5%

Totals are down from £29,098 to £8694

Still no second payment from Tax Man

But I'm now focused on enough savings to pay the solicitors and the removal guys. The completion date is now set at 9th January and in our telephone conversation this morning the owner has told me that on 9th they will be getting out and if they can't get into her new house they will be putting everything in storage and billing the builder.

We are currently debating "Whether to cavity wall insulate or not?" (it won't be coming up on Question Time any time soon!! The owner has a deal to get it fitted by British Gas in the next couple of months. I've been reading up on it and issues with damp after it has been fitted due to bridging the cavity in the cavity wall.
ANY INFORMED VIEWS ON THIS - I'm working in construction and feel like even I'm not informed

She is finding out for me what material they have put in it. We are not in an area of driven westerly rain so that is one factor ruled out! Have a call out at work to a guy who has organised the retro-fitting of cavity wall insulation to 350 houses so hopefully he should know!

I have to say I like the owner, she only does ONE thing that annoys me. Rings up during Grill Graham on a Saturday morning EVERY BL**DY TIME SHE RINGS

    Every thing else is good. One of my college friends has given me a plan of site at the right scale so I don't have to kill;

      [*]The work printer
[*]Work colleagues with pictures of dogs on their phones
[*]Crisp eating students in the library

Going to do 2 drawings this week. Yes I will. Off to get on with a site layout now.
Going out for a curry and to see Mr Turner with friends tonight.
......and on Monday I go and discuss my new site with my new boss and various professionals

I have no real informed opinion on retro-fit cavity wall insulation apart from:

      Have you seen this? http://www.askjeff.co.uk/cavity-wall-fill/
Will the house get driving rain?
What type of insulation are you going to get?
