'Disposable income' has always been a bit of a misnomer when it comes to mortgage assessment.
Mind you, 'assessment' has often been a bit of a misnomer when it comes to mortgage assessment.
There is an assessment.

So solicitors appointed. Recommended by a surveyor I work with and an estate agent who's a friend. Quote checked by a solicitor at work (my job has its benefits!)
Have asked for a quote on a housebuyers report.
Was going to have an NSD but then realised I had bought a tax disc so have been and bought a bottle of wine:D Achieving NSDs is going to be very hard this month with arrangement fees, survey fees and cream cake at work fees.....................oh AND wine.:o
Going over to my cousin's tomorrow. Could have gone out for a bit of a pub crawl but I'm keen to try not to spend before pay day next Thursday and mortgage / spend analysis day next Tuesday :eek:.Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

So......reminded this weekend of a friend on here......can't remember which one, who has a slight addiction to Charity Shops.
Have come to stay with my cousin. Came over Friday after work and I'm still here. Whilst waiting for someone to turn up on Friday I walked down into the town centre (it's a quite posh well-to-do town) and saw a nice dress in the window display. Tried that on, bought a half in the pub. Went back to the other charity shop on Saturday and got a top and skirt.......
So have avoided going out on a pub crawl on Friday with multiple bus fares thrown in that would have been very expensive
BUT have spent £20 in Charity Shops.
BUT do have;
a Boden Dress for a tenner
a Per Una shirt for £4.50
a Monsoon skirt for £4.50
It's a quality town in terms of Charity shops!
Nothing in the social life for the next three days so TODAY I shall prepare for 3 NSDs so my bank account looks okay for mortgage man on Tuesday and stretches until payday on Thursday.
Once mortgage is agreed and salary has gone in on Thursday I need to;
Pay off in full running balance on HSBC card, £180 this month from booking flights and hotels (go me, Frugal person!!!)
Balance transfer £1500 from MBNA 34.9% APR card to 0% HSBC offer.
Shuffle the debt priority around............
Which will result in the priority becoming;
Overdraft @ 18.9% £2200
Halifax CC @ about 14% I think £1378
M&S CC @ 6.5% £1077
HSBC CC @ 0% £1514
I think I will split the focus between the O/D and the Halifax because I like paying off credit cards. I may also need to save as I have to make sure I have £35k available for my deposit and the surveyors/conveyancing/mortgage fees. I am about £400 down at the moment.
I shall report back on where things stand at the end of the week.
If you see some jumping emoticons the mortgage has gone through.......PLEASE let it be so.
Cross everything for me on Tuesday afternoon (particularly if you need the loo and can't get to one!!)Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

What, in the window display? :eek:It's a quality town in terms of Charity shops!
There are some out there. Usually agricultural/market towns. Often in Yorkshire - funnily enough.Overdraft @ 18.9% £2200

Is your liking of paying off credit cards enough to make the extra 50ish quid over a year worth it?I may also need to save as I have to make sure I have £35k available for my deposit and the surveyors/conveyancing/mortgage fees. I am about £400 down at the moment.

I'll never cross anything under those circumstances - I'm just not built that way. :rotfl: But I'll keep my fingers crossed."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
