When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning all!

Payday today, yippee!

Hope you're all well and happy belated birthday and anniversary to Ziggy for yesterday!

Today I will:
Check banks
Do the payday dance
Check CCs later to see if payments have hit
Check TCB
Check Ebay
2lt water
NSD apart from petrol - drive carefully to get to cheap station!
Work hard!
Food from stores
Babysit tonight - cousin so no ££ but usually some nice treats around!
OU
Pop onto bank at lunchtime to finish payday dance

Think that's it for me, have a great one all - sun again! Weird!

DNMS - Paris would be lovely… Did your watch sell in the end? That would go some way towards it. I've found bottles of perfume can go for quite a lot too… You know what I'm like though - not having much joy with my sales at the min! Sorry to hear about your DD :(

    • :) Signed up for more mystery shops
    • :) Transferred pay pal money to OH - he's off to buy a hedge trimmer with our e bay and survey money :T - Kinda like it's free :)
    • :) Free cuppa in work x3
    • :) Look for something cheap for lunch
    • :) Look out what to sell - my old game boy colour and some games and some books I found in mum's house at the weekend. Listed a few bits and bobs...

  • Hi Everyone, I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks and unfortunately have had a bit of a wobble. I've spent on my credit card again and feel massively disappointed in myself. I should have concentrated on posting on here and keeping on the straight and narrow! We ran out of money so I put a food shop on it, but also bought some train tickets to visit some friends, a birthday present for my boyfriend's sister and a skirt and top for me!

I am really disappointed with myself, but on the plus side the only way is up from here! I don't want to cut the card up as it is meant to be for emergencies (for example if I needed to travel and see my family who live at the other end of the country). I have taken it out of my purse again and hidden it at the back of a drawer. I just need to forget it is there!

Time to get back on the band waggon today...

    Check banks

Make a payment on credit card

Chase paypal payment - withdrew grand total of £8 on Monday night but there is something wrong with their system so it still says "processing"

Take bag of stuff which isn't really worth trying to ebay to the charity shop

Small food shop for essentials (bread, milk, NO cakes!)

Plan everything I need to do in the 3 weeks annual leave I have just started! :j

Remember that many people might have a wobble but it can be turned around... Hopefully it will make me more determined to dump this debt!

Have a great day everyone :T

Hi Princess Pea - you sound like me so I know exactly how you feel. Travelling to see family and family birthdays can be difficult to get out of :( I try to offset it by selling other things and mystery shopping. Next one on the cards is BIL - usually always gets £25 amazon voucher so I'm on a mission to make £25 in the next month for him. That's definitely one I can't get out of - they always get my OH the same back so it's kinda expected.
  • Hello La E - great advice there!

    Morning/afternoon all!

OK today's a worky paperworky day and at home.

So time to do work and also catch up on a bit of declutter/packing housework too in the gaps.

    Declutter more of my clothes.
Donate a bag of girls clothes to a chum's lass

Decant current cordial a brewing and bottle up.
Clear one bag from Shed of doom
Another freezer raid to see what's lurkign in there.

H0pe you all have a good un! x
