Asda Price Guarantee a Sham

I checked the price of Smirnoff Vodka yesterday on My Supermarket, Tesco and Asda websites and it was showing £17 on all of them for 1 litre. I went out and bought 10 bottles along with several other products last night and did the Asda price guarantee check this morning. It worked on everything I bought except the vodka. I have checked all the websites today and it is still showing as £17. On my Asda Pricecheck results it was £21.80 per bottle which it has not been at Tesco yesterday or today. I called Asda Pricecheck who told me to contact My Supermarket which I did and they have said that it is down to Asda.
I think perhaps Asda are manipulating the prices on the Pricecheck results as this is the 4th time this has happened - all with vodka and the price check result has shown £21.80 and yet showing £17 on My Supermarket, Tesco and Asda websites. I am fed up being out of pocket. I do my homework before I go shopping and I am now out of pocket by £1.70 x 10 = £17.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

Return the booze for a refund

How are you out of pocket - it is the same price at both shops. I thought the price check only worked if it wasn't the same or cheaper?
If they are all selling at £17, then you haven't lost anything. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

May grocery challenge £45.61/£1200 -
The asda price check guarantees to be 10% cheaper, or it will give you the difference.
If you bought extra because of it then I would return it. If it's the same price at Tesco then return it all, and uy it there and get clubcard points.0 -
Why not buy value vodka, all vodka tastes the same IMO....0

I run a Mobile Bar and buy lots of booze from everywhere. When I go to Asda I have a list that I won't get anything back on because it is cheaper in Asda and I have a list of items that are the same or more expensive in Asda that I will get the difference plus 10% back on thus saving 10% of the cost of the item. On this particular shop I was getting a lot back by way of a voucher but because the vodka price was wrong I have lost out big time. I hope this explains things a bit more clearly and thanks for all your suggestions.0

Yes, totally agree, their rollbacks are a con too - they just up the price of something else ie this week Asda bags of sweets - humbugs, mints etc all usually 0.78p for weeks and weeks and weeks - bought last week at 0.78p - this week EVERY bag is at £1.00 a 22p a bag increase since last week ! - give it a couple of weeks and the price will be back to usual.
Also am I the only one to notice that at times of kid's school holidays, christmas etc all their coke/lemonade goes up in price, usually between 5p and 8p a bottle - sometimes tho as much as 20p, as soon as the kids return to school and Mums are not buying as much of it it returns to its normal price !0 -
