Pipex

Would appreciate any thoughts on Pipex Broadband. They seem to have quite a good deal at the moment and some good reviews on other sites. Many thanks.

  • Been with them from July of last year and have no complaints, especially now my 512k is upgraded to 1mb for free :)

I've been with Pipex since Dec 2002 and am now on their 2mb service @ £33.99 pm.
I would thoroughly recommend their service as a HUMAN BEING!!!! actually answers any queries you may have...and althought Pipex may not be the absolute cheapest around I haven't had any problems at all with them, and this was after being stuck in a nightmare 12 months with AOL...aaaarrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!!

I just got bb at the end of last year and opted for Pipex. My line was recently upgraded and I had a fair bit of bother with really poor connection speeds. It seemed to be a BT issue rather than a Pipex issue though as many people were affected by similar problems including those with other ISP's.

The Pipex phone support staff were happy to go through various things with me to try to sort it out. I have heard that they are not great at fast email response, but I don't think that's a huge problem.

I agree that they are not the cheapest, but I was more concerned about service than price so I was willing to pay a lttle extra.

On the whole I am happy with their service and I would seriously consider giving them a go if I were you. :)

I've been with Pipex for a couple of years and have had very few problems. It's such a good service that even though I probably should move to get a lower rate, I probably won't.

    I would heartily recommend them.

ive had pipex for about 3 years now, when i first got them they had a few issues where the connection would drop out but that got sorted within the first few months. I had the 512, then went to 1meg and now im on the 2meg service. I have often thought about trying these cheaper companies but ive heard soo many issues with them so id rather pay a bit more for a top notch, reliable service. :j

    Go for it mate

I started with Pipex as they had a good reputation, and I never had a problem with them, other than once when they were down for a couple of hours.

I moved to Talk Talk broadband December just gone, as they offered a cheap deal, that was a disaster, and I am now back with Pipex, and a reliable service again.

I have been with PIPEX for quite a few years. They are VERY reliable, have excellent telephone support on 01707 299 509 (say no to 0870!) and I love them!

They ARE slightly more expensive than some of the newer entrants, but I think you get what you pay for in this instance.

You can access your PIPEX mail online from anywhere as well - which is handy if you are stuck in a cyber cafe somewhere - without having to use the horrible hotmail/yahoo/whatever.

I have always used Pipex's 01707 number, even before I became aware of the Say no to 0870 website, as Pipex do / did list this number.

I've been with Pipex for nearly 3 years (now on the 2meg pipe) and NO complaints/problems what so ever. They are a little bit dearer than others but i would gladly pay that little bit extra.
