Hi I was wondering if someone can help, I received a penantly charge for parking in a double yellow line, (camera), I didnt come out of the car, just dropped someone off and waiting for them. I got a contravention 02 parked or loading/unloaded in a restricted street where waiting and loading/unloading restrictions are in force. Does anyone know if I can appeal or do I just pay it. I know that if they dont issue a penanlty charge within a certain time of the offence, then the charge is not valid, but I dont know how long it is, does anyone know. Please can someone help I have a fine of £65 at reduced or £130 after that.

I would advise you post this on http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=60
Pepipoo are the mutts nuts for council tickets, you will need to scan the ticket you have - remove all personal information and registration marks, and also post a google street view of the place you got the ticket.
Depending what the signage was and the wording on the ticket there could be a chance of getting out of it at appeal.
Do the pepipoo thing and you wont go wrong

Oh yes very moneysaving :T
Perhaps when / if you ever get a ticket and seek advice the reply will be the same to you.
What is the point in making a comment like that when its of no use to the op at all ?You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -

It is helpful, just not what you want to hear.0 -

Because there is nothing to indicate the ticket wasn't issued for a legitimate purpose.
Simply putting it, op parked illegally, got a ticket on valid grounds and looking for a technicality to get out of paying it.0 -
How does that help apart from the council?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

OP did not park illegally as the parking has been decriminalised. Seeing as most councils have a habit of misinterpreting the regs there is no reason why the OP should not look for a way out.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

It helps maintain law & order on the roads, so a lot of people. Without punishment for breaching the highway code, what happens? Chaos. As proven when Ceredigion council got rid of traffic wardens for a year.0 -
Next illogical argument is that the highway code is not law, it may reflect laws in place but does not make them. Anyway, I'm not bothering to continue this, its just a waste of time and the OP has posted on pepipoo. Can I suggest you register and put these arguments on there, its more fun.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
