I am officially old!! I was given an iPad by my hubby and am really struggling to 'get to grips' with it :( Did it take anyone else a few weeks to get used to theirs? I cannot get my head round apps and am bamboozled by the concept of being able to have lots of books on it. I find it very confusing. It's all very different from having a keyboard and mouse!m

    Yes it is.
This might be worth a read: http://help.apple.com/ipad/5/interface/

Is there anything in particular that you would like some help with? What about apps would you like to know?

    Itis very different.

But i get cross for a moment now when the laptop screen doesn't move with my finger. ;).

Just habit. I know i do not exploit mine to its full potential.

Thank you for the link, I will have a read of that. I have heard great things about apps from the girls at work, as in ones for diet and fitness, ones that let you scan items of shopping for calorific value and show you you're daily food intake with fats etc. I was also told of an expenditure one which you can put in everything you spend. I have just looked again and there are so many I have no idea which ones are best. :( confused.com!

Yes that can be a problem.
Here's a guide to finding good apps: http://appadvice.com/appnn/2012/02/dont-be-a-sucker-in-the-app-store-a-guide-on-finding-good-apps

That website (appadvice) also has some lists of apps that they recommend in various categories (click on applists and/or appguides at the top of the website).
But bear in mind the website's in the US, so some of the apps might not be much use over here, for example they recommend an app that scans barcodes and tells you calories (like the one you mentioned), but if you look in the App Store it doesn't have any good reviews - this might be because whist it might have details of lots of American barcodes, it doesn't have details of many in this country.

I love my iPad but I hate the keyboard :o If I am at a table I use a wireless keyboard for typing :)

Given I use it for 99% Internet use and the rest apps i suspect I am not using mine to its full potential :o

I do love having it propped up on the kitchen work top while I prepare tea watching films on YouTube :) saves finding space for a TV :T
