O/S Tuesday 24th July Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 24th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Sunny, warm and lots of blue sky, here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early. Have just put washing out on the line.
Dinner last night was smoked sausage pasta, was delicious, followed by ice cream. Yesterday, boys went to mum and dad's and did some painting of fences/sheds etc, then just chilled in the garden in the afternoon, today they are off to the coast. Have some chicken breasts in the fridge that need using up so dinner will incorporate them, possibly chicken, new potatoes, veg and gravy.
Work was steady yesterday, certainly not horrendously busy like it has been other Monday's, so we'll see how it goes today.
Will be endeavouring to get home from work, do some jobs then see if I can sit in my relaxer chair in the garden for a bit, whilst we have some sun!
Have a good day, stay safe and well x

Morning nmlc and to all who cross/follow,
Bright and sunny here too. I managed to get the garden done yesterday so was pleased with that. I do want to pop over the allotment in a little while armed with the hoe. One bed (we sectioned the plot into four big beds) needs doing then the sun will dry the weeds.
No real plans as such today. I do want to hoover through again and must do a bit of ironing. I may then just sit in the garden in a shady spot with the dog.
Can't make my mind up about tea tonight. It will either be pork loin chops, jacket potatoes, salad and corn on the cob or spag bol.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all
Tappers Happy birthday for yesterday. Hope you had a great day.
JackieO hope Mikey is OK. Sounds like he was a bit shocked. Bless.
LW have a good week. Ted sounds a sweetie. We met a very handsome minature Schnauzer on Sunday at the lavender farm near Bath. He was grey(salt and pepper?) and his name was Bertie. Three years old. OH fell in love instantly!
Well the new bed arrives today. I was tipped out of bed at 6.15 am to help get our old bed downstairs and outside before OH went to work. What a sight dragging the old divan and mattress outside in my t shirt style nightie!
Lovely day again so I am going to put some washing in and have a coffee outside. Bliss! Tea tonight is chicken curry so no oven on and I will cook it on the top. OH may have to buy ice cream on the way home from work but I am trying to run the freezer down to defrost it.
Have a lovely day peeps.

Morning all,
Another glorious day here, long may it continuehave got a dark wash on, mainly hoodies, which will dry well in this heat.
Will whip through the house this morning, it just wants a quick tidy really, then go and see dad at lunchtime, he is still not too good and is hardly eating, which is worrying, I think I will take him a honey sandwich to try and tempt him, they use horrible bread and marg at the home, so hopefully mine will be tastier.
Dinner tonight is something with chicken, was going to be a roast, but its too hot for that, will have to have a think.
Jackie O I hope Mikey is ok today, and that he can manage to get his confidence back in the water xxxx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning All,
Glorious day here today. Already have 1 load on the line, pegging out in my nighty:D.
Have the car today so a few jobs to do. Need to pop in and drop something off for my Bestie and she works in a lovely garden centre so will have a mooch. Also need to go into the local town and call in the charity shops and library.
I am loving the Ch***stmas thread at the mo:o I know but I can't resist. Yesterday managed to pick up 4 pressies in M&S they have a great sale on. Also cos we will hopefully be in Australia at Christmas am managing to buy summery presents now for Christmas over there as it will be so hot.
Need to get back on track with my diet today or will end up putting the stone I've lost back on. My knee is feeling better so will also try a little walk.
Have cancelled the car insurance on my old car, will take the tax disc out later and phone the scrap guy to come and collect and take it to the great car graveyard in the sky.
Anway off for my 30g of weighed cereal :j have a good day all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at work, popped in to Mr T to the wet fish counter, 1 tub of soft roe 76p will do me for lunch 2 days & 2 huge sardines 56p will do hubby & I for tea with HG salad & HG new potatoes.
I really bottomed out the living room yesterday & today it's the turn of the kitchen, though I may not get it all done as I have to go to Screwfix to collect a sander for hubby for work & sometimes it's a long wait there.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning nmlc and all,
i was up bright and early this morning pegging out my washing and watering the plants in the greenhouse before it got too hot. Ive just got one lot of washing left to peg out and the clothes should dry in no time.
I need to spend a bit of time at the side of the house sometime today too. Theres a few weeds that need a bit of tender loving care with a squirt of bleach.:D
Butterfly Brain, i sympathise about the lack of sleep. If it wasnt my own bladder that kept waking me up in the night it was the dogs bladders. As usual during the hot weather the dogs drank lots last night but unfortunately it meant that i was up and down the stairs like a yoyo letting them out to pee. By 6.30 i decided enough was enough so i got up.
JackieO i hope Mikey if feeling better after his ordeal on the beach. I must admit i panicked once. Lying on the beach with the kids but keeping an eye on the sea which i knew would be coming in soon i thought was going to have a good half an hour before we would have to move so we lay there enjoying the sunshine and sea.. that was until i sat up and saw the tide was coming in from a side direction and if we didnt move there and then we would soon be cut off. The kids were playing happily, the adults amongst us hadnt noticed either as we were all too busy snoozing. I learned a valuable lesson that day i can tell you.
Hope you all have a productive and sunny day. Enjoy the sun whilst we have it cause it will probably be raining again in a day or two. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning :hello:
I need to get the greenhouses sorted before it gets too hot. Might help if I got dressed
Daisy chick still has an infection so we're giving her antibiotics and painkillers (syringed into her mouth) and cleaning her mouth out every day with Metacam (which is actually for dogs!). She seems happy enough though. Fudge chick is refusing to eat atm, there's nothing wrong with her, I think she's just jealous of all the attention Daisy's getting, lol. So I'm syringing yogurt and mashed up food into her twice a day then telling her to get out and do chickeny things
I've managed to break my toe so I'm limping on both sides :rotfl: Pretty sure I look like a penguin when I walk. Once the greenhouses are sorted, I'm going to take it easy for the day.Bulletproof0
