What happened when you returned the camcorder?

Did you pay by credit card? I would claim the money back off the credit card company personally, if the seller has gone to ground with your camcorder.

Courts can take a dim view of jumping straight in with legal action (am assuming here that you want money back not police?). So best bet might be to send a letter recorded delivery asking for your money back and saying that if it is not refunded promptly you will have to consider legal action.

Unfortunately I paid for it with my debit card via Paypal. So theres no chance of a claim there (is there?)

I've been exchanging emails with her all week and it looks as though she is going to put up a fight for even what I am entitled to via her own listing (75% of original price). All the odds are against her with her listing conditions and the service and emails she has sent me so I have already threatened legal action.

as its been over 6 months I doubt paypal will do v much - what did her listing say re 75% refund? And make sure you have a copy of the listing as if it hasn't already it will probably vanish soon.
