You could have the Desire C for £7.50 per month plus £29.99 for the phone from mobiles.co.uk which equals £209.99 in total over 24 months on Talkmobile with exactly the same minutes/data/texts, which is a bit better than your deal which will cost £240 over the 24 months.

Regardless of the deal, you may want to check out the Desire on tech forums. My daughter has one and has found that the internal memory is only 500mb and of that around 350 is the operating system leaving only a small amount for apps (and most cannot be moved onto the sim) so she constantly gets low memory and is unable to load anything.
Sufficiently bad she will be changing to another phone. Shame really as otherwise it looks a nice phone.

I have got about 63MB left of internal memory and do not find there are any low memory messages or slowdowns. Any apps I download I bung onto the SD card so do not envisage this being a problem(for me at least).

I've just bought the phone and it seems like a really good deal. CPW were ultra helpful in our local store. One thing they forgot to tell me was to restart if not activated quickly - once that was done then no probs. I've just successfully connected it to my wifi and if your daughter does need more memory then it is expandable by a relatively inexpensive memory card.
I'm now trying to get to grips with the completely different experience of texting with a smartphone as opposed to my old Sony Ericson.

Like most if not all HTC entry phones they are just that entry level and not all that. No wonder HTC are going down the pan.

What do you expect from an entry level smartphone?

I have bought this deal, and it's a great deal in my opinion. This will be my back up phone.

Alas the HTC isn't that great, but it's good for a basic phone. Will text and call reliably, apps work fine for me, although gmail works fine, hotmail doesn't ??

i'm not bothered anyway as I don't want my phone beeping and buzzing for every bit of junk mail I receive, in fact on a seperate side note I hate the effect that the touch screen phones have on people eg they spend there head burried deep within the clutches of iphones and Galaxy S etc, touch screening, apping and just procrastinating anyway that is a seperate issue altogether.

Overall I think the deal is good. Anyone know any better deals out there?

A bit more messing about but I would rather buy the imo far superior Huawei G300 outright (can be had for an unbelievable £67 from Very if you are new customer, with thanks to quentin for this spot!) then link that to the SIM only version of this Talkmobile contract (no need to have the phone unlocked as it's locked to Vodafone who talkmobile piggy back on), which is £8/mth for a 6 month commitment. You get £12 cash back from CPW and for the next 4 days only a whopping £60 cash back from Quidco (it's an exclusive but TCB should match it if you ask). Effectively, CPW are paying you £24 to have this SIM deal for 6 months! The beauty of this deal is you are free to hop elsewhere after 6 months so no waiting patiently for a 24 month contract to end!

See post #2, the deal from mobiles.co.uk is cheaper overall.
