Free/cheap parking near Gloucester Station

Options
Hi All,

I've got a new job and with it a long and expensive commute that is going to involve the train and car. I want to reduce costs as much as possible so does anyone know of any free/cheap (less than £15 a week) parking within 10 minutes walk of Gloucester station? It needs to be somewhere that I can keep the car safely 24/7 as I'll be using the train for the first part of the journey and not taking the car home at weekends.

I'm aware of parkatmyhouse.com and have a quote of £15 but if I pay this and get there and there's loads of free spaces around it'll be slightly annoying.

Thanks in advance

    Could you not get a bus to the station, with it being next to the centre the nearest free parking I can think of is the park and ride at the cattle market.

    No I live 75 miles from Gloucester and work is another 10 miles from Gloucester, so my route is:

    Train ----> Gloucester Station
    > Walk to Car (parked overnight near the station
    > Car to work

    Hmmm

    I'm struggling to think of anywhere. I know several places where there used to be unlimited parking but it's now either time limited, residents only or meters. Or at least half an hour's walk from the station

    Which direction are you approaching Gloucester from? There might be easier towns to park in

    I think £15 a week for secure parking is about the best you will do.
    Because of kingsholm and GRH most roads anywhere near are resideUnts only.

    Looks like I'll go with the £15 option then. I have to park in Gloucester because anywhere else on the train route will result in too high petrl costs/too much traffic. Thanks for confirming there's no where to park free though, useful info.
  • Does it have to be a car park? I live not far from Gloucester and when I visit I use Eastgate but it's expensive for what you want. If you don't mind walking (about 10-15 mins) and parking at the side of the road, there is a road I've parked on before. I can check for you if it's resident only.
