There's no guarantee the replacement gearbox will be any better than yours.
With 2nd hand parts it's pot luck.
Do you really want to fork out another £150 on an unknown part? I know I wouldn't.
As others have said,the car is still driveable.
I'd be tempted to put it down to experience....next time you buy a car take it for a thorough test drive,never take the word of the seller,especially a car dealer selling a 500 quid motor !0
