I currently use BT broadband at £48 per quarter and BT supply my phone line. Is it possible to switch to a different broadband provider and keep BT as my phone line provider. If the answer is yes what companies offer a cheaper broadband service than BT Broadband at £48 per quarter? Thanks.

Yeah, your line is split into two. So you can use BT or another calls provider to do your telephony service & the other half of your line is available for any broadband supplier to put their service on.
Have a look at http://www.thinkbroadband.com they have a good ISP comparison service which can help your decision. I'll warn you though the cheapest isnt necessarily always the best!
