There's too many of them, and a lot will have been in customer's houses so I wouldn't go into too much detail. But, the two that spring to mind are the overflow pipe that came out of the tank then went up over a beam before going down and outside, and the toilet pan held in place by oval nails (well I think they were oval nails, they had rusted to about 30% their original size  )A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

Is it just me, or do the houses always seem to look ok and not too filthy when you go to view them? My first house was minging! I really hadn't noticed, (but I was just 17 and my dad had already colluded with my then bf that we should buy the house). When we moved in, we could not open the back door for the 'natural garden' was so overgrown it had overtaken all the drains, and my sister (as I was pregnant) had to put on her rubber gloves and fish it all out of the drain underneath the kitchen sink. The carpet in the kitchen turned out to be 4 laid on top of each other, stuck together with what I swear was kitchen fat! We ripped them up to the bare floorboards to lay carpet tiles which we found in the cellar (bargain as they were ok and kept us going until we could afford to knock the blooming thing down!) The bathroom sink had what I thought was limescale marks under the taps but it turned out to be toothpast - gross! It was so 70s in decor with artexed walls which looked like a christmas cake and impossible to sand down as it was way too thick, we had to plasterboard over it and skim over that. There were all these weird round holes everywhere - huge ones made into features. One which was in the wall separating the stairway from the living room, the wall up the stairs had a huge circle cut into it so you could sit on the stairs and watch TV! The living room had built in cupboards with circles cut into the front - what it was for I have no idea! Perhaps it was the cat's hidey hole!!! It was a nightmare!!0

A chimney breast had been removed in one of the bedrooms in one of my previous houses. Everything from there upwards (breast and stack) had been supported in the loft by a plank of wood propped up by a milk bottle

When we moved into our current house, there was a big brick "feature" fire place in the living room....the flue went up the wall, through the built in wardrobe in the bedroom and just stopped in the attic! :eek:I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

I've just remembered - I viewed a house last summer which had a really bizarre downpipe arrangement - it ran down the front of the house quite normally. It was then attached to the fence all the way through the fairly lengthy front garden and was finally poked through a hole and discharged onto the pavement.0

That's exactly why I was able to overlook the cosmetics!!! I have to say, the beach here is beautifully looked after, and we've got the broads two miles away
