Evening all
JackieO - poor Mikey
I had such a headache in work this afternoon, think it was due to the weather. Fading now though.
Went to Tesco after to do food shop. Managed to spend exactly £20, and used a £3 off voucher, so total of £17this will do me the month, with an additional £5/wk on veg/fruit/eggs. I'm on a tight budget at the moment, but with a good storecupboard and OS ways I'll manage it! They had lots of YS stuff but it was still rather expensive! They had the pre-cooked rice from the curry counter marked down to £1.29  I would never pay that full price for it!! Think full price was £1.59. I have previously bought YS pre-cooked rice from Asda for 9p a pack, which was worth it as I hate having to cook rice!
I should be dying my hair tonight, but I really CBA'd!

Glad you've enjoyed your special day Tappers. Hope Snowy has too.
JackieO my blood ran cold reading about poor Mickey's experience yesterday - hope he doesn't let it spoil his holidays.
Today has been day1 with DGD - first time she's been here without either her Mum or DS! We've had a lovely day, walking the dogs, making bread rolls, painting and just playing. It was very hot tho' and she became incredibly tired and couldn't face eating her supper. Hopefully she'll sleep through without waking up starving hungry! I'm somewhat tired too!
Didn't manage to get too much HW done...and the toys scattered around are evidence that she's here! Mustn't let it all build up or we'll be in chaos by the end of the holidays!
Take care everyone!Resolution:

Hi guys not long back from DDs I stayed to dinner there tonight. Mikey has been my shadow all day, and has barely left my side bless him.We sat and watched Forrest Gump, his favourite film this afternoon as he didn't even want to go out into the garden. He has been quite clingy today, but by tonight had brightened up a bit. DD has Wednesday off and we suggested to him that we would all go to Larkfield swimming baths then and at first he was adamant he didn't want to go near any water, but I said 'Well Granny hasn't been swimming for ages' and 'Would he like to stay with me when we are there and we could stay at the shallow end and he could look after me ' as since my op. my right arm doesn't work so well and being a bit lop-sided after my mastectomy I tend to go in small circles when swimming ,so he thought for a bit then said 'only if we stay together'.He said this afternoon that he kept thinking he wouldn't see me anymore when he was in the water and he got quite upset about it.I think he will be ok but it has frightened him a bit and we want to get him free of the fear of water as his school has a pool and unless he has a medical reason they are expected to go in weekly. So with luck he will have some fun at the Larkfield pool which has lots of play things there, and all sorts of stuff for children of all ages (including old Grannies
)Fingers crossed we can get him in there.I know it will be a long time before, if ever, he goes in the sea.I'm not keen on it myself but that's more to do with the fact I like to hope that what I'm swimming in is clean water. When he was rescued out of the sea yesterday he was very shocked and I think thats why the lifeguard called the ambulance as he couldn't stop shivering and shaking.Poor little guy, he's such a good little chap as a rule and takes everything in his stride.I think we were all shaken by it.
I haven't told my eldest DD yet as she is away in Devon on holiday, but I'll tell her when she gets back.I am taking the boys to the country park tomorrow hopefully if Mikey is ok,we were going today but he just wasn't up to it.he will be ok with lots of TLC and with luck will get his confidence back.My late OH had a similar experience when he was a small boy (he was pushed in the deepend at a local outdoor pool) and he hated the water afterwards and never learned to swim at all,I just about managed to get him to float in 40 odd years.
Well time for bed and a read I think thak you all for your kind wishes and thoughts.
Good night, God Bless all here
