Firebelly FB1 baffle plate replacement?

I have the Firebelly FB1 multi-fuel woodburner/stove
However when having it cleaned, I managed to break the brittle top baffle plate made of Vermiculite,
So i was just asking to see if I could use a metal/steel equivalent baffle plate as its just a simple rectangular piece instead of vermiculite?
Would this be safe and do the same job?

Not sure about metal/steel replacement as it may change the dynamic's of the stove. Why not get a replacement sheet of vermiculite off flea bay. They are very cheap and wouldn't alter the stoves operation in any way.0

Thanks yes thats exactly what I was going to do as the baffle plate vermiculite is a simple rectangle that I can cut.
Just waiting to see one come up now0 -
Have you called FB to see how much they charge for a replacement?“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
