Demolishing nearby houses

Hi,

It appears that the housing association that owns several off the houses on my street and the houses on the street behind mine are looking at either demolishing or redevoloping their houses. These are ex council and some have been tarred with the concrete cancer stigma.

Chatting to some neighbours whos PRC houses havent been bricked up they are looking to pull them down and build new smaller houses in their place ( due to the size of the gardens etc )

Mine and several others at random intervals have been 'bricked up' and are privatly owned. The house next to mine isnt and is still owned by the housing association.

Im starting to panic as my house is quite nice and has a lovely big back garden for my kids etc. so dont really feel the need to move. Can they do anything like a compulsory purchase order? and if so are you given and incentive to move? Do you have to?

Any advice welcome!

They can ultimately do a CPO. If they get a CPO then you have to. However if you end up being one of the last few houses left they tend to make quite generous offers to get you out rather than go the CPO route because it takes longer and costs more.
