PAYG dongle

My parents have gone to live with my Grandma for a period as her son has just died and there's no internet access there, so they are looking to get a dongle to go with their laptop so that they have internet while they are there for the near future. The laptop is a company one, I think they might struggle with admin rights, but otherwise standard.
Anyway, any recommendations for which network? Does it matter or they are all basically the same? They are in E18.
I saw that they are going for £25 for a dongle with 1 GB in 1 month on 3 on ebay, but I don't know how much you'd pay on the High Street, which is where my Dad will go to buy one. Is £30 for dongle + top-up sufficient or will it be more than that? Just buy any network or any in particular?

Get a dongle on T-mobile with 90 days usage for £29.99 from Argos

Its this one from the t-mobile site, states its 1gb a month, but
'we wont charge you if you go over, but we may restrict your use'
'However much you use the internet, you'll never get charged extra. That
means you can always email and browse without worrying about the cost'
so in reality you can probably use a few gb, then have the speed cut.

I use 1GB in a day so that is not be good for me.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Just spoke to my Dad and he says that he has no admin rights on the laptop and won't be able to get them.
So I suspect none of the dongles will work.
There's an Openzone hotspot available, but £39/month, so meh.0 -
One other idea, if you have a decent phone contract you can actually use your phone to get the internet through your PC/Laptop via yor mobile/smartphone. This is assuming you get a decent signal where you are.
It works a treat for me when I'm working away or staying in hotels and don't fancy paying the hotel wifi fee. You simply use whatever allowance you have for your 'data' on your phone contract. For example my mobile contract has unlimited data allowance so it's happy days!0 -

You don't need Admin rights to use a MiFi; just the ability to connect to a WiFi network.
You can get one for £30 on a one month contract.
