Then I would suggest keep washing it in the anti d shampoo, also sitting out in the sun will fade your hair too.

I would try Fairy liquid...don't know why but a hairdresser told me to try it when I wanted my dye to come out quicker and it worked...Leaves your hair quite dry though so you may want to use a good conditioner after...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)

When treating your hair after the Head and Shoulders (or whatever else you opt for), try using coconut oil for a moisturising treatment. Leave it in damp hair for as long as you can- anything from 20 minutes to overnight. Its a great and cheap hair treatment product and also does a great job at helping strip colour!- If applying to your roots you may want to wash again with a shampoo as it can make your hair look lanky when on your roots.

    Oil strips colour.

Massage warm olive oil (or coconut oil or any other oil) into your hair and leave. The warmth is important as it opens up your cuticle.
Leave on for a while and then wash out with either fairy WUL of head and shoulders.

I normally recogmend this for newly dyed too dark hair; and 1-2 applications will give a noticeable difference. Because it has been on your hair a while any stripping (from any product) will be gradual.
My only worry is it will remove the newly dye colour and make the black more noticeable.
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler
  • They have these hair colour removers now, I saw an ad the other day.

I haven't tried it or anything, so not sure how good it is / how it works.

I am presently using ColourB4 colour remover to remove all artifical colour from my hair. Yes it does remove the colour but i am finding it harder to remove the colour from the bottom lengths of my hair. The hair near the scalp is warmer you see which helps the removal process but like i said, its not so easy to remove the colour from the ends.

I now look in a mirror and see a grey haired lady looking back at me. :o

Still, its a nice shade of grey :(

  • Thanks for all the replies.

I actually phoned Clairol today & they couldn't offer me any advice. They were pretty dismissive in fact. She suggested asking my hairdresser re: stripping color or getting a color remover. I told her I couldn't afford to get a hairdresser to sort the color out & I wasn't going to use a color remover.

I said to her that it should be made very clear on the products that this is a demi permanent as opposed to a true semi (which is the 8 washes). I also said I wouldn't use Nice & Easy in the future or recommend it to anyone. Her reply was that she would pass on the comments.

Honestly, I'm wondering why you're so against colour removers? So long as you condition well afterwards they're not that damaging. You can then (if you wish) use a lighter colour to get it to a tone you'd like.

I've used them and it didn't have any worse effect on my hair then semi permanent dyes. It *seems* to make it worse as it removes the build up of silicone and such in the shampoos and conditioners most people use which are what achieve that glossy/smooth/shiny look. But all it effects is how it looks/feels, not the underlying condition.

I have used 5 boxes on my hair (despite the directions stating you can only use it three times) and my hair isnt damaged in any way because of them. Mind you the solution stinks to high heaven and the smell lingers for the first few washes.

  • I have very fine hair & it is very sensitive. I can't even use bleach on my hair or have a perm as it pretty much causes my hair become very dry & brittle. In fact, when I have used such products, my hair has been that badly damaged, I've had to get it all cut off.

My hairdresser has also strongly advised against using any color remover, so obviously I'm following her advice. She did suggest head & shoulders as it isn't as harsh as color removers. However, I'm considering the hot oil suggestion before trying anti dandruff shampoos.
