Wenger Luggage and Ryanair

Hi,
I've purchased a wenger 18" suitcase from Tesco with their offer.
But the depth of the case is on the website 22cm even though when measured its coming up to around 20cm.
Has anyone used one of these for hand luggage on Ryanair with any issues ?
Thanks

The MAXIMUM/MOST/BIGGEST/HUGEST depth allowed is 20cm, one day you might get away with it on one flight at one airport and another day you won't and it will cost you dearly.
When packed it is either 20cm or less or more than that, it's that simple. You have been warned.
The sizes Ryanair quote include and handles, wheels, luggage tags, stickers, loose stitching - anything.
You pay for a ticket with cabin baggage with a maximum depth of 20cm, please don't chance it if it's more (unless I can watch)

What? You've measured it to be 20cm but the website says 22cm? Short of you having a faulty ruler, obviously it would be fine! Do you really think Ryanair have a list of every suitcase available and it's dimensions to cross-check with everyone!
They have a cage at the gate which is the same size as the biggest bag allowed - and as Bob said, if your bag won't fit inside it, it won't be going into the cabin with you, so maybe you want to double check again!0 -
I used this exact case on a Ryan air flight from Bournemouth airport no problems. It just has to fit in the cage so as long as you dont over fill it will be fine. Chap in front of us had a bulging bag that would not fit in the cage he just took a pair of jeans and a jacket out and wore them onto the flight!0

Or the dreaded cardboard box!!!!!!!!! If it's to big don't complain if and when you get caught and have to pay. Just because someone gets away with it once or twice or can ram in in the cage doesn't mean that it won't cost you dearly when they bring out the cardboard box !!!!!!!!!

The funniest site I've seen was at Valencia airport when a family was asked to put their cases in the cage to check the size. They did but one case needed an extra shove to get it in and then it got well an truely fixed. After a few tugs and some strong language dad decided to pull the front panel off the cage to get the case out. The Ryanair staff said something to him about damaging their property and that the case would have to go in the hold. You could see from his response that he was telling them it was their fault, they asked for the case to be put in the cage. It went in easy enough but just wouldn't come out again. The case was allowed on as hand luggage.0
