I doubt they will mind if you don't go. Just say you are unwell or something. I am sure as they know you well they will be more than understanding. ((hugs))

    Hi all.:hello:

Bathroom day today in the Wolf's Lair,:o (just as well, as there may well be a fair bit of stray dog hair to remove),;) and I currently have the shower head soaking in a dish of vinegar.

Mumto5 (((HUG))) I can't advise re the work situation – I guess the bottom line is how you'd manage without the money coming in – but I can offer my heartfelt sympathy at a horrible situation.:( Some people aren't satisfied til they have blood!

Nanamia *holds out paw* Grab hold, and up you get, honey. :o*Surreptitiously kicks BD in the furry dice*

Hi Boddy nice to see you! Take it steady, as you've not been well; Level 1 only to start with, hey?;)

Piggers – ewwwww at your OH._pale_ I honestly can't cope with people upchucking after too much alcohol.:(

    Nat21luv welcome!

FFP just.... (((HUGS))) Some people just can't cope with funerals – Mr LW can't, neither could his dad, and I'm pretty rubbish at dealing with them myself, specially if it's a burial.:( Don't feel badly about it. OK, I know that's easy to say. :o

*Addresses any deity listening* Ahem.... we could use a little slack here, if you don't mind – too many Flyladies dealing with stress and unhappiness. Oh, and you can take the pack of BDs away and kennel them, too, while you're at it. Ta muchly.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Big hugs to everyone having a hard time today.

Mumto5: When I made the decision to stop working outside the home, one of the considerations was how much working actually cost me - travelling, lunches, special clothes, boredom, angst, wear and tear on my soul etc etc. Good luck with finding a path that suits you better, even if it just waiting for the monster to go on mat leave.

FunFairPrincess: About a month ago I couldn't go to a funeral of someone I liked very much. I emailed the person organising the funeral and asked if he would mind if I wore her favourite colour the day of the funeral and did something special to mark her passing. He was happy with that.

I have made at least two (and proabbly three) errors of judgement today.

    1. It is better to scrub the front steps before cleaning the kitchen sink if you intend to rinse the bucket and scrubbing brush in said kitchen sink.

    2. It is better to sweep the front steps before scrubbing them. Mud everywhere down the path. Oh whoops.

Now lets see what else I can muck up today.
    Better is good enough.

That's the morning's flying done with. WM x1 is pegged out and x2 waiting to go on. DW emptied and clean/tidy bits of kitchen/LR S&S done. Progress in bathroom: litter tray, loo, sink, window sill all done. I needed a gentle start and used the first HHC to declutter the drawer unit and check for OOD meds.

FFP - so sorry to hear your sad news. Maybe you can find other ways to support your SILs.

I think I can spare some GUAG, Jue and pigpen, so I'm sending you some.

More of the same after lunch - HHCs in bathroom, broken up by 15 min laundry rehoming. If I keep this up for the whole holiday it will look better!

FFP sorry to hear about the losses in your extended family. If you are close to your SIL she might really appreciate the support. Sounds like she has a lot to deal with. Will she have to arrange both? That's very tough.

Anyway, I was going to suggest, if she has plenty of other family to support her, why not explain that you are not good at funerals, but would like to help, and perhaps offer to look after any children that may need care during that hour or two? Not everyone takes children to funerals, for whatever reason. Or offer to go help set up at the wake (if there is one) and be there to help that way?

    Just a thought.

My SIL didn't come to my dh's funeral, they live abroad, but my brother flew back. I perhaps would have expected her to come if she lived closer but having said that, if she said she couldn't as it made her feel bad (it was close to anniversary of losing her dad) I wouldn't have cared at the time, I'm sure. My head wasn't in any state to notice who else was there. And I didn't go to her dads funeral, they never "invited" us, but then I only met him twice and they lived 3 hours away...
