Same thing here. I received a letter from a debt collector offering me to settle or else await the court charges which will amount to £350 plus.
My fault; I left the site. Damages to the owner do not apply as I parked within the time limit. I keep wondering how these PPC can dictate individual's movements. Is that legal?0 -
Yes the charges will go up to £350 as they say, the great news is if you ignore them the charges will be £0.00 , bargain !Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
And, by a strange co-incidence, £0.00 is exactly the same as the car park owner's losses as a result of your action.
There is no offence of "un-trespass". Read this ...

No it isn't. Which is precisely why you shouldn't pay. What losses did the landowner suffer as a result?
If the car park wasn't full then nothing whatsoever.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Hi
Wondering if you can help me...Please tell me i'm doing the right thing by ignoring these letters from UKPC and Debt Recovery Plus.
I have been doing some work for the University of Birmingham, there campus is controled by UKPC...Great!! The first week I was there I didn't have a parking permit (the Uni staff were just too busy to sort it out for me). I got 2 parking charges (£30 each) in 2 days of my first week of working there.
I've obvously been looking around and found out that if I ignore the letters they would get fed up and leave it.
There are signs everywhere stating I will be charged and to be honest I was expecting to get charged (but I had no where else to park, I couldn't let a customer down). I've taken everyones advice and just ignored the letters. These charges went to £60 each after 28 days and I have recently recieved a letter from Debt Recovery Plus telling the charges have now gone up to £120 each and I have to pay within 7 days.
The staff onsite have told me they pay £1 a day to park on campus that comes out of their salaries, so I guess the loss to the Land owner is a £1 a day (I don't mind paying that). All my family are telling me to pay to these charges but I'm not willing to fork out £240 to any body.
What do you guys think? I'm just worried that there was signs everywhere stating I was going to be charged.
Cheers

Cheers Stephen
Does it matter if the site is gated? Normally the Uni staff have a swipe card that lifts the gate (this takes the £1 out of their salary), With me not being staff I press a buzzer and they let me in.....no questions asked.0 -
No it makes no difference
Ask your family if they are easily fooled and if they pay when they get those nigerian scam emails?
just sit out the silly letters you get and educate your family
Show them the letter chain that is on this boardFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
If there is another case in the S!!!!horpe County Court, Grimsby County Court or Hull County Court live by four pm on 26 Friday, you will be coming to see me and I suggest you bring a toothbrush. Am I clear?
I love it

"25"? That should read "live".
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
