As long as my newly bought Freesat box works with my TV I am just going to need to look for a new broadband deal.
Where I have just moved to doesn't has fibre optic cable so Virgin (who I was with) can only supply broadband through the phone line.
What I was wondering is what are the best broadband providers at the moment?
i have been with Virin forever so could do with some advice.

Yes you do have an optical network available to you its just the last mile from the exchange thats copper, and Virgin does not bring optical fibre to your home its copper coax
See if you can get Sky LLU.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Broadband is exchang-specific, so there is no universal 'best'.
Do you already have a BT-based landline installed at the property? Because without that you cannot get any ADSL broadband service.
Start with an exchange search on https://www.samknows.com for your available LLU options. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Go with Plus Net...I've been with BT (absolutely awful overall) and talk-talk (Great internet/technology, shocking customer service!)
When my contracts up i'm definitely going with Plus Net just for the 'privilege' of having an English call centre!0 -
We had sky for just over a year with no problems. And then we hit a issue they couldn't or wouldn't resolve, though their call centre staff were always polite (but didn't ever call back when they promised). Since leaving, they've refused to allow the line to be released without a threat of going to ofcom (we were out of contract). They then pulled the plug on the service too early which stopped our new supplier taking our phone number on properly. They have since refused to talk to Openreach until another ofcom threat was made. I'd always have recommended them in the past, now I definitely wouldn't.
Have only been with plusnet for a short while but their customer service is great. They keep you informed every step of the way via text and an online portal as a minimum. And we worked out it was cheaper for us to go with them and their 60gb + anytime call package than it was to go with sky, though sky are unlimited (we don't need unlimited but do need more than 10gb).
Also, plusnet do unlimited nighttime downloads so if you're up late or early you can get some "free" downloading in!Data protection is there for you, not for companies to hide behind0
