HTC Desire Help!
Hello all,
Hope you are all well!
I recently downloaded the Barclays Mobile App on my phone and it recommended getting Kaspersky anti-virus on my phone.
I searched the internet, to have a look at reviews about it ect and came across a website, which had a QR scan thing. So I scanned it (stupid I know and no I didn't read anything before doing it,) with my phone thinking it was a link to the Android Market...WRONG!
The screen started flashing and something downloaded and i couldn't stop it. The problem is now, i have no idea what it downloaded and i can't find anything under my list of downloaded or running apps. I even went back onto the scanning programme and went onto my recently scanned items.....nothing there!
I'm really worried what i have downloaded on my phone and where on earth would i find it to get rid of it? It doesn't seem to be doing anything unusual at the moment, so i don't know what to do!

With the Android phones you need to be careful what you install. The malware is even found on Google Play Store. Search Android Malware if you need further information. This is due to Goolge policy of only remove the app after the event.
If you are not sure about the app reset the phone and be careful if you are going to use the banking app.0 -

That is the Kaspersky web site it is not from the Google market .
It is a paid for app and a trial is available . Though Barclays may offer a free version but thats through the barclays web site .
Removal is simple find the app go to menu and select edit you will find uninstall .
With this app you remove from within its own menu .
I have downloaded from the bar code installed run the app and removed it so no problems .
Usual Goodman !!!!!!!! in the post above ignore as he only comes here to knock Android /Google .
Though i personally would not use any banking on any mobile phone but then again neither will i use chip and pin .
