On a mac it is shift + command(apple) + 4. Then a little square thing appears and you draw around what you want to screenshot. It then saves on the desktop. On PC not too sure.

On a windows laptop? I have no idea, it's something to do with the PrntScrn (print screen) button. Best to google it for your specific machine.

On a Mac it's cmd+shift+4 and you can select the area you want to capture or replace the 4 with a 3 to capture the whole screen.
