Please can someone help. .mov file now .jpg. Very upset

Please help!

I took a video of my week old baby taking her first bath and have just gone into it to watch it again and its now a .jpg file and only the first image is showing, no video. It was a quick time player (.mov) file and now it isnt and Im wondering if there is a way to convert it back (I uploaded it to !!!!!! so that my mum could have a copy and it seems to be since I did that that the problem has occurred (its only showing as a jpeg in there too). Its the only video I have of this and Im really upset to think that it might not be retrievable. Id be really grateful if someone could maybe help me. x

p.s not sure if it makes any difference but the video was taken with a normal camera and transferred from an sd card rather than being taken with a video camera.

What size is the .jpeg? Hover your cursor over it to check.

It's possible the jpg could be just a thumbnail. Do a search to check that there aren't actually two files, one being the .jpg, the other your .mov file

What is the file called?

If it is "baby.jpg" search your computer for "baby.mov" without the quotes.

Or just search for "baby"

Thanks everyone.

It says its 127KB. I have a shortcut to it on my desktop as well and when I open it it says File 1of2 which it normally only does on videos. I know that it worked because I watched it so not sure what has happened (my dad was f'ing around with it so I reckon he has done something to it or its gone wrong when I uploaded it to that sharing site I referred to earlier.).

The camera is a panasonic Lumix TZ7.

ive searched for the file and its only showing jpeg ones.

Id be so appreciative of some more help if anyone thinks there is a way to retrieve it. Thanks so much. x

search for "*.mov*" without the quotes. Your file may have been renamed. Also, do you still have the original file on the camera SD card ?

Isn't it still on 4shared?. How long ago? If recent, you might be able to recover it from the SD card or to do a system restore on the PC.

I checked 4shared and its just a jpeg on there as well. My baby is only 4 weeks old so it was only about 3 weeks ago that this all would have happened. Ive used the SD card since but not sure how to recover things from it and I havent done any back ups on my computer to any external harddrive for ages. I dont even know what a system restore is!! (useless with computers). Could I do a back up on my computer to an external hard drive then restore the pc back to a certain date or something (not sure if thats what you mean). x

System Restore doesn't affect data, so would not bring back deleted photos, movies etc.

Have you checked in the recycle bin?
