If someone can only get 2 part time jobs (thats a reality right now) there is no point excluding from the statistics. If someone is female (there are many, thankfully) there is no point excluding them from the statistics.
We all need homes. It's not just full time males who need somewhere to live.
Excluding them DOES give you a better set of figures, but it's not realistic.
That has always been the case so you are coming round to my way of thinking that it is the lack of suitable jobs that is the main problem not house prices.0 -
But as you are trying to ride this obsessive 'boomers' hobby-horse of yours into the ground, it's worth pointing out that the overwhelming majority of single people did not even aspire to buy a house or flat back in the 1970s, '80s and probably even the '90s.
The formula was quite simple and just about universal:save, find home., marry, breed.0 -

Come on carper. I mean...really.
Did I actually say not a problem.I personally think the biggest problem we face is the lack of good jobs for people leaving full time education now or who left iN the last few years.
Personally most of the 30 years olds I know have reasonable jobs if not great the same can't be said of the people i know who are in thier teens or early 20s.0 -

ALERT ALERT!!! DEVON FORUM TACTICAL ALERT!!!
I've decided to expose Devon's forum discussion tricks. Here is his favourite. Strawman building.
ukcarper says "lack of suitable jobs that is the main problem not house prices"
Devon twists his words and comes back with: "Lack of suitable jobs now? House prices are not a problem?"
Under normal circumstances, Devon would run away with himself screaming around the forum stating his lie as the truth, undermining ukcarper.
Do you see what he did though, it's like seeing through a magic trick...
uk carpet is saying that lack of jobs not house prices ARE THE MAIN problem. Devon twists this to pretend that ukcarper has stated that House prices ARE NOT A Problem.
uk carper didn't say house prices were not a problem, he said they were not the MAIN problem (ie. that they were a problem, just not the main one).
Devon is amazing at this. If left unchecked he would muddle and ruin this thread with his 'bear pals' cued up to jump in with a
"Hey Carper, how can you say that House prices are not a problem? You're an idiot!!"
The simplicity of Devons tactics are what make them so effective. He's a genius!! :rotfl:
EDIT: while I was typing this, ukcarper pulled Devon up on it too. Good for him, normally people let Devon get away with it.0 -

With himself, as well as you ?
Well all I know is I'm sick to the back teeth of it. Every thread you go on "Grahm this, graham that, devon this, devon that". It's even gone down the path of him enquiring as to why others are not having a pop at me (this morning on his self congrats thread).0 -

Have you ever done a verbal reasoning assessment?
Where you have to demonstrate the ability to understand, analyse and interpret written information accurately.
Just wondered.0
