Vista: Restore files from a backup made on another computer

You might want to use the Vista Backup option to store the files to another Drive or Partition and then Restore the files that you need from the backup later, after you have run the Factory Restore.

Packard Bell.....groan. Anyway, will need the full model number.

Not familiar with iTunes, but everything can be saved. Do you mean songs purchased from within iTunes?

Burnt some cd's onto ITunes and sold the cd's so tracks are on the ITunes player.

That groan about Packard Bell didn't sound too good :(

The files are probably in your Music folder. Have you checked?

They were there but I deleted them, can I transfer the tracks from ITunes onto my external hard drive?

If you deleted them, you would not be able to play them. :)
Can you play them? If so, look in the iTunes folder, which is within the My Music folder...

Where does this information come from?
Ah - I realiase what I said may have been ambiguous; I meant that the MS T&Cs state you can't make copies of disks.

You can of course acquire another original media, and there are also official ISO images that can be downloaded, and the ISO images are self-evidently copies and therefore kindof negate the above.

Actually I just checked a Vista disk and it says "Do not sell, lend, transfer, or make illegal copies of this disk", but they don't define what "illegal" is.

    That's illegal.
