2 very quick questions regarding my mobile phone!

I took out a 2 year contract with O2, though Tesco about 4 months ago!

The phone has recently started to develop faults, can I return it to Tesco, under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 for replacement?

Also, could I insist on a different phone?

    Hi there,
It is a Nokia Lumia 700 and has started to switch itself off and also adjusts the settings and when receiving calls or messages, the ringer is silent.

As with these things, the faults are occasional:j

I take it you mean Lumia 710? Have you tried restoring it?

Yes you can return it to Tesco, they can take the option to repair the phone and you can't insist on a different phone. You can however ask and see what they say but they can say no.

Many thanks for the advice, I'll try a reset and see how that effects things!

It's got a least a 12m manufacturer's warranty on it., so you might as well go direct to Nokia.
No, you can't 'insist' on anything. The retailer can repair, replace or refund at their discretion.

    Hi

O2 are quite good on their warranty's, 24 month contracts are covered with a 24 month warranty.

If phone is unrepairable then it will be changed like for like, If your phone has to be returned 5 times for repairs then on the 5th return a new phone is given like for like also.

I know this as my partners SE10i mini pro was returned for the fifth time 20 months into her contract, a few days later I received a call saying a new replacement was instore to pick up, I never tried for another model as she likes the phone but I suppose its worth a try.

Good luck trying for a different phone now, so early into your contract as I think you will be told your cooling off period is well up.

    Jon
