Hi, we purchased a laptop from an tesco extra store for the kids, paid £359.00. We powered up laptop used ie8 but nothing else uploaded, stored, saved. Only went on tesco direct website to check for some info on computer and came across the same laptop for only £319.00. Tried to phone a few 0845 numbers, not much look, got passed around. Very happy with the purchase but a bit annoyed when i could have got ordered it to store for £50 less.
Any ideas, could I take it back even after using pc, seal broken on box. I know I should have checked first on website for prices, normally would.
Thanks in advance, D.

Probably not given it is now used.
Persist with the phone calls (but find a cheap / free alternative on https://www.saynoto0870.com) and see if they can help.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

I would be taking laptop #1 back (if it is indeed faulty)
And the time to 'research' prices is before you buy - once you've bought, stop looking.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

If the same laptop was £50 more expensive the day after you bought it would you take the £50 into store?Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0

I think by this op actually meant they haven't 'used' the laptop as such, merely turned it on and tested some features - rather than it not actually performing these tasks because of a fault.
Admittedly I did also think this on my first read alsoOnly went on tesco direct website to check for some info on computer and came across the same laptop for only £319.00. But prices do fluctuate so it's usually best not to check prices post-purchase. After all they cannot legally come after you for the difference if the price went up - it's a 2-way street.0 -
Tesco have a 28 day change of mind policy (double check the customer service boards) they may charge an hours labour if you have put a password on it. Once you have returned the laptop and buy it online don't forget you may be entitled to £10 off over £75 spend0

You can only returned it unopened & unused I believe.0

hi they will only return if opened if its faulty and you will have to phone the helpdesk who will check it before they will issue the store a returns reference.0

Buy another one at the lower price and take it back a day later but with the higher priced receipt. This is perhaps not the most ethical of solutions, however, and you would run the risk of them not accepting it.0

1) thats fraud.
2) 'Screen Damage is plausible'? No its not, nor is it covered by warranty.
3) they won't refund. they won't replace.
Very ill informed first post I have to say...0
