Vodafone hiding outstanding balances HELP
I gave vodafone my 30 days notice in march and my account closed on 9 April 2012. I went the the branch twice before it closed to confirm how much and when my last payment will be. The staff confirmed it would just come out of my normal Direct Debit and then the account would close. I paid my final bill on 2 april 2012. I received no bills following this. I went the the branch in May to confirm the account was completely closed. They confirmed it was closed. On checking my credit file i noticed they had not updated my account to show as settled. I contacted another branch on 15 July 2012 and asked why. after arguing with the staff for 20 minutes they eventually rang customer services to confirm it closed. She came off the phone and told me there was a £3.15 outstanding balance. they wrote this off immediately. I asked why they hadnt told me this in store on my numerous visits or why i had never received any reminder letters advising me of this amount. after numerous emails this week with the custoemr relations team I was told after my account was closed on 9 april 2012 they wouldnt send out any more letters and wont remove the adverse credit file information they have placed due to this remaining balance. Vodafone were happy to leave me with an outstanding balance and damage my credit file and never tell me because the account was closed ?! I am lost, i have no idea what to do as i get no where in branch because they say they cant do anything and the customer relations team wont help. I am applying for a mortgage soon and this will decline due to the late payments they have applied HELP

Have they put late markets on your file?
Usually the files are updated month after so it should have been there for past two months.0 -
on my credit expert file they have update it from april to july saying it is open and up to date. according to vodafone they have been placing late/missing payments each month from may to july0

Hi lexus90,
I am sorry to hear that you have had these issues relating to your credit file and that you weren't advised of the outstanding charges when visiting the store.
So that I can look into this further for you, can you email me via the address here with WRT135 FAO Heidi in the subject.
