I completely endorse that comment.
However, like all offers, you have to follow the Terms of the offer, which in this case was 100+ words? Can we clarify - are people saying that the promoters have changed the Terms of this offer since it started?0 -
no they did not change it it has always been 100+ words it tells you before you even do the review i did not find it veryhard to get to over 100 words as my school is v good so much to say so little space lolRECLAIM YOUR BANK CHARGES I DID LOL £6K BETTER OFF, £293.00 EQUITA BAILIFFS WON, £600 APPROX WELCOME FINANCE PPI WON,CAPITAL ONE £944.00 WON

Guys and girls,
Leave out your hand bags will you and some one tell me where they seen the promotion as I have received an e-mail from Jayne requesting this information.
Do I just tell her via word of mouth or will this not be deemed as a valid answer?
She has requested this information twice now so seems a bit reluctant to send out the vouchers.
We also have 3 different schools which kids in our household attend so looking forward to a new xbox game :-)

Check out posts #93 and #108 on the thread. If poster jayneJ here is genuinely the Jayne from the promotion, i would presume they don't mind if you say you did see it here?
The key thing from the other post is that it is genuine.
If they are suffering from multiple applications I can see that they might want to be reassured that your 3 different schools are genuinely the case.
Why not give her more detail - like the kids names and which classes they are in at those schools in your next reply?0 -

Hi
I am Jayne and I am having a very tough time. I work for Schoolsnet and have received 2,000 e-mails in the last week. I am going through the post as fast as I can.
I can't send the vouchers out till after Easter because
a) It takes M&S over a week to deliver them;
b) I haven't had time to read all the reviews yet;
c) It will take time to cut and paste 2,500 addresses from the e-mails into a spreadsheet;
d) it will take time to stuff all the envelopes and put the labels on.
And there's just me doing it. Schoolsnet only has a few staff. And we are working flat out.
This promotion was originally only for Mumsnet users and my maximum spend was going to be for 1,000 vouchers. As a result of it coming on to sites like this; I asked my company to expand the promotion so that genuine parents who had heard about the offer could participate. My company agreed provided I could ensure that the reviews complied with the original terms and conditions; i.e. a 100 word minimum and that the reviewer was a parent of a child currently studying at school. I naively said yes, no problem even though all these sites are completely new to me.
Since then, this has created a mountain of work but I am ploughing through it. Sadly I am having to be vigilant as one person has already tried to submit the same nasty review twice for 6 schools.
Can I ask , how would you feel if you were a parent at that school or taught there and someone made up lies about your school? That is why I am making sure that as far as possible all reviews are genuine.
I have also had a horrible e-mail today from someone from this site, threatening to report me to the mse moderator for failing to send out the voucher by next week. This was even after I had explained all the logisitical issues in sorting these vouchers out. In short, if people like her stopped writing to me; I could get on with the job. It was a mean letter and frankly, if it wasn't for the fact that I have had so many more lovely ones from people on all sorts of sites inlcuding this one and from the original Mumsnet promotion, I would just give up. I feel really sad that I simply tried to spend my marketing budget ethically and then when the promotion went viral; still tried to honour our offer; and now I am receiving nasty letters.
Most of you have been absolutely brilliant about the fact that it will take a few weeks to get the vouchers out. And I just wanted to say thanks to the good guys, the genuine parents and the kind of people who get that the whole thing has just got huge and I am doing my best. I hope you have a brilliant Easter, and when my 5 year old gets over chickenpox, I hope I do too.
Until the, trust me, I am going as fast as I can.
Best wishes

I've had an email today from Jayne. Have to say I considered for a very long time whether to copy it on to here for you all to read...however I decided against basically becuase I just can't put her at risk of more critical comment from SOME MSE users.
It seems to me that Jayne is a very genuine person who is trying her best to promote what is a very useful website to other parents whilst at the same time awarding those parents for contributing to the site (rather than filling some advertising fat-cat's pockets). I think she has been totally astounded by the way some MSE users have approached her "demanding" their vouchers. I think Jayne and schoolnet probably did under-estimate the power of the web and the freebie hunters, but I also think that the MSE website is let down by the few who seem to think they can scream and shout at anyone to get what they are "owed".
Well, as a result of SOME MSE's behaviour, a future similar offer is now at the point of being cancelled. It astounds me how unforgiving some people are and inconsiderate in their thinking. There are real people behind this website who are simply trying to do their best - so basically give them a break!
I think this was a very good offer. £10.00 for something which took only two minutes to do and will be of benefit to others. After reading Jayne's email, I'm left with such a bad taste in my mouth that I am now considering donating my £10.00 voucher to the school PTA to help them raise funds for the school I reviewed...
Thank you to the majority of MSE users who are considerate, polite and helpful in there approach to others.
NB I will not be responding any further on this matter so criticise my post all you like- you won't get an answer!0 -
Jayne! You beat me to it! Well done girl and keep it up!0

That's terrible jayne and I'm very sorry to learn that some of the concerns I mentioned earlier in the thread have proved to come true and you have had to be put through that.
Rest assured, I'm sure the overwhelming majority here think that you are doing a fantastic job and that this Marketing idea has worked really well (despite your current workload!) I'm sure there are loads of us who now know the site and will use it as a valuable resource in the future.
Well done and thanks also for making the effort to come here and update us - it is really appreciated and we will be patient!0
