Yesterday I used the bill monitor as recommended in the weekly MSE email to check my phone contract. I didn't change anything. Within hours my online account had been compromised, postal address changed, and an iPhone 4G ordered on the most expensive contract... How secure is bill monitor?

Is that the one that asks you to give them your mobile number/log in details etc etc etc? I had a look and immediately decided it wasn't for me, lol, especially in this day and age of hacking etc. I believe it's an independent site that MSE get affiliate income for referrals from. I think your first port of call would be the site itself, then if no joy contact MSE Towers and ask them to investigate. It could of course be entirely unrelated but what a co-incidence if that was the case.
  • Me, my hubby and my sister use it and we've never had any problems.

Did you access it from your home pc? Are you sure its secure?

Did you click through the link in the MSE email or type the url in manually?

Yes, from my home PC; only my son and I use it. I linked from the MSE email. My wireless server is secured.

I did check that it was the site recommended by Ofcom before giving the login details. I've asked the site to investigate; O2 fraud section are also investigating.
