Used this company last month with no problems but everytime I log in now I get the message 'Transaction Blocked'.I've emailed them several times without getting any replies.Has anyone used them in the last couple of weeks?.I tried to use Getpoundsback but find their website abit confusing regarding registering the mobile number.Does this mean everytime you want to sell your credit you have to register the new number.Any experience with these or any other company would be appreciated.

I have used both companies in the past, although I have only used sellyourcredit for smaller amounts. With getpoundsback, if you are selling credit from different sim cards, then you need to change the mobile number in the personal settings, as that is what they check the payments against on a daily basis.

Yes - not really a problem as you can update it as soon as the transaction tracks.

IMO the only disadvantages with gpb are:

    1. the cash-in value has to be multiples of £5 or £10.

    2. you have to wait about three months for your money to be paid out.

    Getpoundsback
"Mobile PAYG Airtime Credit - £10 Payment (Fast Pay) - Payout available within 14 days."

You only get £6.25 instead of £6.50

Just tried sellyourcredit and it still says "Transaction Blocked", have they gone bust???

Just found this blog on their website dated 18 July

"Unfortunately due to some abuse of our service we have had to temporarily suspend sales of credit. To ensure that all of our customers who have not been a part of this are not affected we have had to extend the payout period of all existing sales to prevent this abuse. The new payout period should be within 75 days of the initial sale. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience".

It was good while it lasted!

Luckily, I cashed-in about a dozen Virgin Mobile payg SIMS (each had less than £5 credit remaining) before they pulled the service.

Now getpoundsback.co.uk have also suspended their Fastpay 14 day service.

I just found this on their website

    IMPORTANT NOTICE:
"Unfortunately, due to some abuse of our service we have had to suspend the 14 day Fast Pay tariff.
All genuine Fast Pay transactions that are pending will be placed onto the Std Pay Tariff & will be paid out on the 20th October.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Getpoundsback have also now temporarily stopped transactions on their Standard Pay tariff.

"Unfortunately, due to some abuse of our service we have had to suspend the Std Pay tariff temporarily.
All genuine transactions that are pending will be paid in the normal time frame.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused."
  • I am also looking to use up my PAYG credit. Anywhere else that can be spent or used?
