Postage on Ebay goods

Most sellers have been caught out like this at least once - and the seller should do what i did - pay the extra themselves. Then go into MyEbay settings and Block non-mainland areas. Its easily done.
But i do think some people living in the UK's surrounding Islands know exactly what they are doing when they bid - and do tend to take advantage of these listings.
If it says courier - then its often double for non-mainland delivery. Royal Mail do not charge extra - but are clearly over-priced for larger items to start with.
Its up to the OP if he wants to pay the extra. Its clearly a genuine error by the seller. But if i was the seller, i would take it on the chin - pay the extra - and learn from it. You should never expect the buyer to may more than is quoted.0 -
Thank you for posting this. I sell on ebay, and occasionally courier things. I had no idea it would cost more to courier to NI - I guess I assumed since RM doesn't charge extra for sending to NI, that a courier wouldn't be extra either. Glad I found out before encountering this issue!Mortgage when started: £330,995

Reply saying if they are unwilling to supply the goods they should cancel the transaction accordingly and appropriate feedback representing the disappointment will be left. Some sellers will value their feedback rating enough to stomach it0

Many thanks to all who replied, all sorted now.
I should state that there was no intention on my part to hoodwink the seller with regards to extra courier costs to NI.0
