If you have the first bounty book that I got at my booking appoint (I'm also due in Dec
) there is an ad for Totsbots with a code for a half price trial kit (£23 instead of £46 I think). No baby yet so can't say if they're any good but you get a couple of different styles so seemed like a good starting point to me!

I used reusables with my son and will do the same with this baby - I loved the motherease range and have stocked up again with pre-loved ones from ebay. Keep an eye out for bargains and try different types as you don't know what will suit you or your baby until you try different ones.

Different babies will suit different nappies, so its best to buy one or two of a few different kinds to start, rather than going all out on one kind.
My LO has v chunky thighs, and tots bots All in one Birth to potty's didn't suit her at all and kept leaking. We are now using Bumgenius Version 4's, which are great. Babame are selling some of last years colours at about half price at the mo - £7.50 each, so maybe buy a few. You can always sell them on if they dont suit.Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

Hi Dawn
) I'd recommend seeing if there is a cloth nappy group in your area - there may be someone who will lend/hire you some nappies to try. We saw our local nappy lady who was a great help.
We got on well with the two part little lamb nappies to start with (after cord fell off) but now my lo is active we use all in ones like bumgenies 4 and wee pickles.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

I used washable nappies for my DS. They are fab! I used some called Little Lamb to start with but actually found DS grew out of the bigger sizes in the end before he potty trained and, as the previous poster said, not so great when they get mobile. I ended up experimenting with a few different varieties but what suits one may not the other. There was a lady I consulted with initially http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/ who offered advice based on my needs (she also sells them so no idea if she has a vested interest in certain types but she was very helpful anyway and no pressure to actually buy from her so nothing to lose anyway).
The only things I would add is bamboo rather than cotton appears to be the way to go these days; it's softer, dries quicker, thinner and has antibacterial properties. You can also get some microfibre ones but I found them bulky.
In the end, I almost wish I'd gone for the terry squares as, actually, I ended up trying them for a bit and folding and fastening them wasn't much more hassle than the prefolded or pre formed ones. And they could be washed at higher temperatures and dried quicker too!
Some places let you hire the nappies so if you're not sure, you could always try them out and see how you get on and won't have lost much more than buying disposables.
The only other advice is, if this is your first baby, buy newborn disposables for hospital and the first couple of weeks until the cord is off or you will be having to fold it down around it. And, honestly, you'll have enough on your plate with having a newborn in your lives that you can worry about how you catch the stuff out his/her bottom end when you've settled in a bit."So long and thanks for all the fish" :hello:0 -
Another site you could try is Hunnybums (https://www.hunnybums.com) they have a lot of videos and guides that might help you decide which type is best for you.0
