odd problem

i sold a dvd player on ebay, and put that it was a collection only auction. it was bought on the buy it now by a woman. i emailed her to ask when she would be collecting the iiem. she claimed ( in broken english ) that she thougth it was a freepost item ( it clearly says collect in person). i explained this to her but agreed to post the item to her for the postage costs as i didnt see what else i could do. she paypaled me the postage costs ( sh34 had already paypaled me for the item) so i packaged up the dvd player and parcelforce 48 hrs it to the address on her paypal account. she started emailing me asking when it would be delivered so i told ehr the latest point it would arrive at. i also gave her the parcelforce website and the reference ( i always like to have em so i can see how my things are going whe i buy stuff) the latest it should have been delivered was yesterday and i am now gettin emails saying where is it she has waited in etc. i look on parcelforce website and it says they tried to deliver and she was out. so i sent her the parcelforce page and the number and explained this to her........ she just doesnt seem to be understanding ( this also makes me think eglish is not her first language). i even got the parcelforce number for her and explained step by step how to arrrange a redelivery date. she is now asking randon questiusn liek " is this new or second hand " ( the listing states it is brand new in the box.
i am worried she is gonna try and calim her moeny back ro something
if hse has not got the item from parcelforce in a certain number of days i presume they will redilver it to me, but then what happens, is she entitled to her money back and i am suposed to fund the £18 postage for sending it on a week long jolley? as the problem seems to be she doesnt understand she has to go collect it / get it redelivered
thanks

if it is returned to you because the buyer has not been in and has not arranged a re-delivery or collected it then she will need to pay the postage cost again

The fact that EBay put 'FREE' in the p&p slot when an item is collection only is a pain in the neck.

I'm not surprised that someone with poor English gets confused.

Once she'd seen that p&p was 'FREE', she was probably not looking out for anything to do with delivery.

Yes, people should read all of the listing carefully, but fleabay could make things that little bit more foolproof by not putting something that is an outright lie (assuming you need totravel to pick it up) at the top of the listing.

i know thats why i presumed it was a genuine mistaek from a newby and agreed to post it to her ( even though ideally i wanted it picked up as i didnt want the faff of posting it). im hoping my step by step guide this afternoon will have enabled her to pick it up.

ok, after sending her a step by step guide of how to get it dselivered, it arrived with her this afternoon. i then got a very badly written ( english almost made no sense) abusive email telling me it was broke n and she is going to the police and her bank about me. this was 1/2 hr after parcelforce said ti was delivered. i know there was nothing wrong with it and it was in perfect condition when it left me. is tehre anything i can do now?

I'm not being funny but your postings are very hard to read, and are almost written in a way which also almost don't make sense due to limited punctuation and spelling so go easy on her, eh?

Before she does anything like request a refund she will have to return the item to you via a trackable method. I agree it sounds a bit odd it's suddenly broken after it being quite a difficult sale. She cannot go to the police - they won't be interested.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

she is now emailing me roughly every minute to threatne me and call me a liar, i am not having any chance to respond before the next one comes. i am reeally unsure what to do next.
she started saying about it being secondhand ( its isnt its brand new and i its box) before she actually recieved it from parcelforce. as i say im jsut not sure what to do next.
and yes i appreciate my spelling and punctuation are nto that great either sorry i try. that is one of the reasons i was trying to be helpful when i thought she was having troubel

"I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with your purchase, the dvd player is brand new and I do not appreciate the way you are speaking to me. The dvd was 'collection only' however, you bid on the item and won and out of courtesy I arranged to have it couriered to you. should you wish to return the item, please return using the same method - parcel force. Upon delivery, as long as the item is in the ORIGINAL condition in which it left me, I will offer a refund excluding postage costs. Should you continue to harrass me and use the language you are using, I will be the one calling the Police and reporting you for harrassment. I await your reponse" -

Thats what I would say to her!
