living and paying maintenance....

I know of some who take a second job to pay the maintenance so that they get to keep the whole of their main wage.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

The CSA got it totally wrong when the P.W.C. who is on benefits gets maintenance payments on top of their benefits, They should of only give it to P.W.C. who agrees to go through with a private agreement with the N.R.P. That way the govement gets to save money on administration costs.
so what happens when an NRP refuses to pay miantenance to a PWC on benefits?0
-
Then the CSA should get involved, but i think that most N.R.P's would prefer a private arrangement but for some the reason that decision is left down to the P.W.C. when the N.R.P. is the paying costomer!!!0

Then the CSA has to get involved. But in cases where the NRP is willing to pay his "whack", then he really should have the "say" as to whether the CSA is involved. If a PWC of a willing contributor phones the CSA, then basically they should tell her to "do one". It's a complete waste of everyones' time, when the time could be better spent perusing non compliant NRP's.
Maybe CSA 3 will address this problem, although if it works in the same way as CSA 1 & 2 have (not moving those on CSA 1 over to 2) then I wouldn't hold your breath!! What should happen is, that everyone who is on the CSA "books" be informed that from xxxx, they will all be moving to CSA 3, none of this flaffing about taking years to ease in! If there is enough notice, then the PWC/NRP's will have ample time to make adjustments, for either a drop in payments (PWC) or an increase (NRP)0

well said someone else with some comon sense!! pity the CSA can't take it on board!!:beer:0

how do you guys cope? currently i pay £42 a week to the PWC after £280 wage per week after tax.
decided to pay the full amount and nothing else to avoid arguments. i have no problems paying the £42 a week.done by mutual agreement and is exactly what the csa would take via there collection method.
after rent ect, car ect....leaves me with about 20/30ish quid a week to play with if that.
I pay for petrol to see my daughter and take her out when i can. i also provide nappies and food when she stays over once every other week.
i feel like as i pay my way, and she doesnt work and is on benefits she should help with MY overnite stays by giving me my money for that day.
am i being unreasonable here? she is on benefits and laughing with all this money and heres me working crazy shifts just about keeping afloat.
You are lucky, there are many NRP's on here that on splitting with the ex took debt with them as well, meaning they get blacklisted, become homeless, lose houses etc etc...!
No different from a man walking out and leaving his ex in the house, with no means to pay the bills, all bills in her name, in arrears with rent mortgage etc etc...!
My advice now, is grow up, you have asked for help before, you got the help before, and now you are just moaning about you have to pay...! I don;t mean to be horrible, but welcome to the real word. You had a child, and now you have a lifetime of supporting that child, how you deal with it, is down to you, you can make it easy(ish) for your self, or you can fight and argue everything along the way and be a miserable bitter old man by the time you have finished...!
She doesn't work, well that is something you have to live with, and all you can do about that is spend time with your child, and HOPE that you can install some values of work and paying your way by doing what you should be doing...! There are 2 parents, and you need to remember, that badmouthing the other in front of the child/ren will only make them bitter and confused...! They will want to love you both, and only you can really make them hate you...! Remember you will only have yourself to blame if it all goes wrong...!0

Remember why the CSA were created in the first place. It was only last year that PWC's were allowed to keep the full maintenance whilst they were on benefits.0

It was april 2010 that benefit disrecard was introduced, I don't know why the CSA did not introduce CSA3 at the same time or transfered CSA1 cases to CSA2!! You will get some single P.W.C. on benefits having kids with different fathers so that they can get the maxium amount of benefits, there will be those of you who don't think that sort of thing dosn't happen!!
One more thing about this new scheme on the CMEC website it clearly states that once the new scheme is introduced that those on the two exsisting schemes (CSA1 & CSA2) will be activily encouraged to make a private agreement, so does this mean that from this oct i can go onto a private agreement??0

I suspect that by far the majority of single parents - working or otherwise - receive some kind of benefit. I have looked for stats and haven't found them but I would be willing to bet that by far the majority of single parents work at least part time and are those who are on full benefits are in that position as a direct result of the breakdown of their relationship. That doesn't mean to say that there aren't women out there milking the system for all it's worth - but I think the 'women pop out child after child by different fathers for benefits' refrain is far too simplistic a take on a complex situation. And not only is it complex, it is also very individual whereas 'the system' has to fit everyone. So it doesn't fit anyone very well.
Interesting question about the private agreement - you would hope so but I suspect it won't be enforced until you have officially migrated to the new system....0

You can go onto a private arrangement whenever you want, providing that you and your ex are both in agreement about this.0
